Who's doing their Parkrun today and where?

I'm up North today (Surrey)

So may go for the place where it all began - Bushy Park - or give Richmond Park a go.

Basingstoke

Basingstoke for me - assuming that once I haul ass out of bed I've not been broken by yesterday evenings 40 minute AMRAP workout.

Basingstoke is on the list. I try to do a different venue every time.

I'm also conscious today is a rest day in my training so I'm going to try and go slow but I can't help treating every Parkrun like an Olympic final!

A weekly, free, timed 5k run event. There's hundreds around the country and the world. Every Saturday at 9am.

I did one in Florida a few years ago when I was training for London marathon.

Organised 5k runs across the country. Every Saturday at 9am.

There are a few in Argyll and lots around Glasgow.

I like the idea of parkrun tourism, but not so keen on the getting up early to get there part!

Coffee social after your visit to Basingstoke Parkrun??

I've heard there might be 1,000 people there today!

A mass start will help me today. I can go right to the back to prevent me setting off too quick.

Absolutely. I'll bring cake!

I'm regularly up and down the M3 on Saturdays at the moment so taking advantage of different locations.

Only Basingstoke and Winchester left to do on that route!

Anyone going for a PB?

Supposed to be a rest day for me so going to try and force myself to go slow.

Right, time to get the sun cream out.

Have a fab run everyone. See you at the finish line. Mine's a flat white!

Let me know how you got on.

Pretty overcast here in the end so not quite the sweatfest I was anticipating, luckily!

Not all that North of North London

Ally Pally for me today, fairly local (less than 20 minutes on the train) but first visit there. I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago so took it easier than normal which is probably why I enjoyed the hills so much! Definitely one of the nicest I've done, the course is tough but it's a stunning setting with amazing views over London

My home parkrun never came back after lockdown so it's been quite fun clocking up a lot more local tourism with today being my 20th venue

Interesting. I'm a bit of a Parkrun tourist, I'll definitely add that one to the list.
