It is my 40th birthday next week on 12th july and what would you do on such a big day and if you have celebrate it, what did you do or have any ideas for it? One thing that I definitely is going to do is to have my yearly birthday workout

Mine was spent locked down, so whatever you do enjoy it.

I'll chuck in the usual suggestions of paintball, quad biking and orgy. Possibly not in that order, you'll be sore.

I was single when I turned 40 and even though I celebrated with my kids, and celebrated with my friends I also made sure I did something for me, so I arranged a fab birthday treat for myself.

Hope you have a great birthday

Ty. I will have a good birthday too. I will do a birthday thread as well on that day. I am as well single and yes doing something for yourself sounds good too. I will as well go out for a coffee and cake at a coffee shop with my parents x

Do you only work out on your birthday or is it a special workout?

In my gym it's burpees for the number of years when it's someone's birthday.

I was going to have my first ever birthday party.

Turns out it was on zoom after not seeing any family or friends for a month.

So I had a slightly early celebration for my 42 and went to snowbombing with friends.

A very happy birthday for the 12th!

I just turned 39 last week and your post has gotten me thinking about what I would like to do for mine. I love the idea of doing something for just me, i will spend the next year thinking of something special.

I hope you have a wonderful day whatever you choose to do, please report back! X

It's a thing! A music festival in the Austrian Alps where you can (if you like that sort of thing) snowboard or ski during the day...

Then festival party at night.

I got absolutely smashed at a garden party and was put to bed like a naughty teenager by my parents. Don’t be like Alice

I did also do some random stuff like a sunrise walk up Snowdon plus swimming in waterfalls and a night out with friends in Manchester.

It’s your birthday, do what makes you happy x

When it was my brother's 40th birthday a few months ago, me and my mum, dad and brother went to Alton Towers to celebrate for the weekend from Friday to Monday. It was a pretty awesome weekend.

We'll be going again when it's my 40th birthday in the next couple of years.

Chippenham Malmesbury area

I didn't consider 40 as being much of a big event OP, 50 felt like more of a milestone in my life; turning half a century should be celebrated.

For my 60th, I did a 60 mile bike ride. And then a half marathon 2 days later. I think I needed to prove that despite the number, I'm still young enough to do the stuff that I enjoy.

No, it is not a special one. I workout every week, 3 times a week, doing a full body workout, it is just that like, even if a workout day doesnt fall on the birthday. I change that other day so I then can then workout on my birthday, that thing you do with the burpees sounds fun to do

Do something special with people close to you. I went trekking in Northern Thailand for mine, my 50th was scuppered by Covid and I went to York for a few days. Completely different experiences but equally special memories
