Post Vasectomy Life

Hi, this is something I'm considering so A can stop using the pill, she's been on it so long as it is, which isn't the best.

Just looking for responses from guys that have already had one, and their thoughts on how or if it has affected them at all?

I've spoken to the doctor, read lots of information (from medical sources not Facebook haha), but would also like to hear some anecdotal feedback.

I had one over ten years ago, apart from a little bruising and tenderness straight after, I've had no problems at all

Yeah that's pretty much what everything says. Good to know. Obviously there's a tiny chance of post op issues (nothing massive), but it does seem like it's a few days/week of recuperation and life carries on as per.

I intend to get one. The last thing this world needs is a smaller and more annoying version of myself.

At times the tubes connected to mine swell to 2 or three times their normal side, which is pretty uncomfortable. It does come and go, there isn’t really a way to predict it

I can’t remember how long it’s been since mine….7-8 years easily.

No difference from my perspective at all, and it wasn’t even painful afterwards. The sting was no worse than a badly grazed knee, it just lasted a longer.

Get some tight fitting y-fronts (as size too small usually works) to keep everything snug until healed enough and just take it easy sitting down and standing up across that period.

Had mine 2wks ago - mild discomfort (not as nearly as bad as a filling at the dentist) no pain after didnt need paracetamol. Mild swelling of the balls and a dull ache around the bladder area but nothing to write home about.

Exactly the same as when I had mine.

No lasting issues.

My partner (at the time) not feeling they needed to be on medication was a massive benefit though. That stuff isn't nice.

Though swinging whilst not on anything isn't a risk I'd want a current partner to take lightly. The injection is meant to be a good alternative for that (stops periods too)

Had mine a year and a half ago. Not impacted drive at all.

Discomfort for about a week after but not bad at all, balls swelled and felt huge for the first few days then went back down.

Just please if you do get it done, send off the samples and wait for the all clear! It can take a while to clear the sperm from your system. Sincerely, someone who worked at a clinic that performed them .

Had mine done around 9 years ago, i think he was a butcher as he began before i was fully numb down there which certainly made my toes curl! He stopped and waited another 5 mins, i didnt mind as there was a very hot blonde girl in the room for training reasons,

Had very bad bruising for about 2 weeks and was very sore but i think i had someone bad doing mine, im not a wimp when it comes to pain either! Most guys i know who have had it done have had no issues and gone back to work next day..... i believe they do it different now without the 2 bricks lol so you should be ok

Had mine done about 15 years ago and please make sure that you use contraception until you have been cleared, as mine didn't work first time and I had to have a 2nd op, infact after the first time, I cracked one off in first 24 hours and had full sex day after

Dave had it done in June 1997, local anesthetic, Caroline watching, all good.

A bit uncomfortable for a few hours, but otherwise no problem.

A friend of mine and myself both had a vasectomy in the same week. He had his under general anesthesia in one hospital. Swelled up and badly bruised, off work for 2 weeks

I had mine with a local anaesthetic in a different hospital, had no bruising or swelling and was back at work the next day

I’ve had a consultation with the surgeon that’s supposed to be doing mine. Didn’t get a good vibe off him so I’m cancelling it. May be a silly reason but I’m not letting someone who didn’t put me at ease handle my nether regions…

Sex drive is the same. Sexual hunger remained the same. It works the same. Everything is the same.

It’s not as bad as you think. The first needle stings. n that’s all.

Like, others I had mine done almost 20 years back.

I won't comment on taste, but rather my drive, or fear of thinking the post op effects would see it reduce.

Actually, it's been opposite to that, so there are some fringe benefits.

For me, not producing unwanted children has been the principal benefit.

Almost nothing to say really, got it done about 3 years ago. Op wasn't sore. I was a little tender the next day so worked from home. That's it really.

Mostly did it so Mrs Bang Bang wouldn't have to take the pill and neither of us really like condoms

Similar story here to many others, did it so condoms and pill could be ditched. The op was very straight forward and pretty much painless and other than a mild ache no issues post op. Absolutely love having had it done for the piece of mind that there are no mini me’s out there

I had it done about two years ago. It's never going to be a comfortable procedure, but it healed pretty quickly and it hasn't changed anything except liberating our sex life from condoms with each other. It was very worthwhile. Luke

I has mine 8yrs ago. Apart from soreness for a few days it was ok. Sex drive was exactly the same. Needed to cum a rediculous amount of times before giving a sample for them to check for swimmers.
