My new job

Evening all,

Hope everyone is well and re adjusting to the best normal life they can.

As a result of all this shananigans, I've left a long term role which I was very comfortable in.

Due to start my new role tomorrow, safe to say the nerves have well and truly kicked in, or adrenaline either way can't sleep!

Any advice guys?

X

It's a cliché but be yourself. They obviously liked what they saw at interview stage so be true to that person.

All the best.

Appreciated massively,

It was a role I never applied for and was poached, so I guess I feel added pressure

Amazing. Take comfort in the fact that they found you. If they didn't think you could do it, they would have got someone else.

Hello there...sorry to hear that you lost your original job.

But, tomorrow is a brand new start for you!

And whilst your bound to be nervous, which is only natural I bet you're going to do kust great.

If possible try and get your head down.

Remember your employer wants you to succeed and won't expect you to know everything off the bat.

Take a deep breath tomorrow, and just do your best.

Good luck and come back and let us know how it goes x

Thankyou bell, means a lot, first time in my life I'm nervous, which to me signifies the steps I've made all in a positive direction.

Didn't want to say because I don't want to be one of those sob stories but, I'm proud on the path I've taken.

18 months 2 weeks and 3 days ago I was homeless with a crippling habit.

From then I've come so far, I know it's rough as toast, so I sincerely encourage anyone whose struggling with anything, please reach out I'll do the best I can

X

Very kind words,

Thankyou so much means a lot, double edged sword though isn't it, I'm nervous as hell for a job I can do stood on my head...

But it's new and unfamiliar and I'm seriously battling not to fall back to what I know for comfort.

Can't believe I've worked so hard to get to this point, to cripple now....

Racking my head why, don't understand why I feel how I do

18 months is a great start but you're just at the beginning of your journey.

And look what you have accomplished in q short space of time....its truly amazing...you are amazing!

You are not the only one who feels that way..there's a name for it..I thinks imposter syndrome. And that's people who haven't fought your fight and it is a fight.

Now keep fighting for yourself x

I get it..I do.

You are building this so far up! The anticipation of the new job is so much worse in your head than it ever will be.

Tomorrow you will look back and see that it really won't have been as bad as you thought.

In fact you'll probably have a great day.

Give it a chance...give yourself a chance.

And so what if you're from a council estate it means nothing. But you do mean something!

C'mon you've got this x

Thankyou means alot,

Oh this council estate lad has gone from slinging drugs and money (not that I'm proud of)

But it got me a degree in criminal law..

That was the pressure from my family, straw that broke the camels back so to speak..

Battled a heroin addiction, been clean 18 months, just can't shake the feeling I ain't good enough you know?

18 months is a great start but you're just at the beginning of your journey.

And look what you have accomplished in q short space of time....its truly amazing...you are amazing!

You are not the only one who feels that way..there's a name for it..I thinks imposter syndrome. And that's people who haven't fought your fight and it is a fight.

Now keep fighting for yourself x"

Appreciated, hope you don't mind me taking a short cut to express my thoughts x

"Hello there...sorry to hear that you lost your original job.

X

Oh my lovely I know about addiction and you have already won the biggest battle of your life. This is nothing in comparison.

I wish so very much for you.

Now go and kill that job x

Very kind words,

Thankyou so much means a lot, double edged sword though isn't it, I'm nervous as hell for a job I can do stood on my head...

But it's new and unfamiliar and I'm seriously battling not to fall back to what I know for comfort.

Can't believe I've worked so hard to get to this point, to cripple now....

Racking my head why, don't understand why I feel how I do

No don't you do that!

There will ALWAYS be times when the devil is on your shoulder!

This is when getting clean really counts!

These are the real tests.

You can do this job standing on your head.

Stop overthinking it and just do it x

The devil's not on my shoulder...

It's firmly got his foot on my head!!

Who am I to think some doylem from a council estate can amount to anything.

Sounds mad but in my head feels like some cruel kind of joke...

The more I think about it the quicker I fall down the hole ...

I get it..I do.

Not at all..I'm out of here but please come back and let us know how you got on....I'm truly rooting for you x

It was a role I never applied for and was poached, so I guess I feel added pressure "

So they like you even more then! You didn't ask them for a job, they asked you!
