A place where others reside

The most recent one I enjoyed the most was God of War on PS4. Absolutely incredible gameplay and story telling.

Can't wait for the sequel.

After gaming for 40 years or so, I can honestly say there are too many good ones to list.

In the last 2 years it's either The Witcher 3 or Half Life Alyx but for completely different reasons.

I've been gaming for over 30 years now and have a few favourites from over the years but many of them have not aged well just due to the limitations of the technology.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is well up there with my favourites though, it's a stunning game. The Witcher 3 as well.

I liked both of them quite alot, but for me they suffered from the same problem RD2 being worse than the witcher imo. Which is they are just too long. Numerous times i though "Ohhh this must be the end" for it to just carry on. RD2 carried on for like 15 hours longer than it should with the John Marston stuff imo

Bruce lee on the commodore 64, from the 1980s.

Someone mentioned dead redemption 2. I don't really keep up with playing games anymore, but Woody Jackson, the composer for that game bought an instrument from me on ebay recently. (I myself got it from a maker in the netherlands a while ago.)

-I'm interested if he uses it in any of his future game soundtracks.

Loads of great answers. I have taken to playing older games and re discovered the joy of Wii games, cute and well formed pieces of fun (Lego games and Mario are great multiplayer with the kids).

On the PC I have discovered beamNGdrive which is a driving SIM focussed on extreme realism (cue setting up silly crashes, stunts and 'i wonder if' situations as well as racing).

Wolfenstein New Order has a surprisingly compelling story as do the two system shock games (crap you pants scary!)

Minecraft.

The first trailer actually put me off quite a bit. The Tornado looked like something out of a Fortnite special event. I can see what they where going for, showing off some stuff that is welll known to happen in BF like quad bikes with C4. But too me it just come accross as a bit childish. Like we know that stuff happens but atleast BF 3/4 had a veneer of seriousness

Maybe im just getting too old and no longer the target demographic. Much rather spend 20 mins in a bush shitting myself on EFT

The first trailer had loads of bits in it that were recreations of moments that people had in previous BF multiplayer games.

So it's kind of showing that you can have all those 'Battlefield Moments' here too.

It probably is the worst BF they have done though.

Missin’ Yo’ Kissin’

GTA series - where everyone in your family/friends round a screen & everyone yelling at you to kick, punch the prostitute!

Then shouting to shoot the maffia & start more shooting and crashing & car stealing.

My personal fave is to go onto the freeway crash a car till it catches fire & then watch the carnage!!! GTA V - is my favourite.

Other faves: Red Dead Redemption; Far Cry; Wolfenstein; Quake; Duke Nukem & Half Life.

Lego batman 2 is the most ambitious (features wise) of the Lego games, and you get to play superman as well, but the first batman game is more fun.

I also like the Lego version of batman in the Lego movie... Better even than Christian Bale... But that's a bit off topic!

Yeah i know, thats what i meant about the quadbike with C4 and the shooting of another jet while ejecting (Cant remember the name of it)

Those things just used to be part of playing battlefield but overall it was still serious if you know what i mean? Now they have embraced it and used it as a selling point. Just turns me off a bit

But as i said im probably not the target demo anymore

"Loads of great answers.

Minecraft."

I keep meaning to try BeamNG just not got round to it. Will be interesting when they add fully modelled cars in the same way as BeamNG to stuff like Assetto Corsa in the future. I play alot of ACC atm

That would be too smart for Nintendo

Instead they spend their time suing the makers of emulators

So many...original Doom, Tomb Raider, Defender, Quake (1,2,3 and 4), Robotron. I've played Doom from 2016 more than any other I think. The single campaign I completed a while ago and multiplayer still stands up.

BeamNG is great because of the attention to detail, it is a very accurate physics model of the vehicle (think flight sim for racing games). If you can do it in real life you can do it in game. You can go off roading and get super accurately stuck on a rock, all damage is accurately simulated, so you can snap a drive shaft or suspension part and see the effect, ever wondered if you could drive on just the brake discs?... That's covered! Vehicles are heavily customisable as is the environment.

I discovered it thanks to watching people's creativity in YouTube and wondering what game they were using.

Playing it for the first time currently. Love the aesthetic but quickly making me realise I'm not as good at fps games as I used to be "

Helps if you follow the in game encouragement to use plasmids... Just shooting stuff is going to make it mighty difficult!!. Just like it's spiritual predecessor System Shock it isn't really an FPS game, although you are in the first person and sometimes required to shoot stuff, it's not the only way to play.

Lego Harry potter for the accurate parody of the story it's based on. But Lego Pirates of the Caribbean and Lego Star wars for fun gameplay and replayability and hidden things to find.

It came out, it was called Alyx and it was amazing.

Valve cant count to 3 but after playing Alyx, theres no way you'll see any more hl games unless you get into vr as they're going to use it to carry their vr platform.

My favourite video game was a game called Actraiser and it was on the SNES. One part of the game you had to fight the baddies but the best part of the game was being the little angel that had to protect the town and its people. Rain clouds to get rid of the sand, thunder and lightening to remove rocks. Loved it.

I love s good story too, but they all end rather too quickly and end game content suffers. All that space but nothing to do in it.
