Sp what's the verdict on the fifty shades of grey films?

Interested to hear if the woman get turned on by the films and it scenes?

Have you got worked up by the scenes that you just had to fuck there and then?

Badly written, badly researched pieces of fan fiction that should have never been made into books let alone films!

The sex scenes (such as they are) are nearly none existant and they aren't in the slightest bit kinky.

As for BDSM, oh you don't want to get me started on how it's glorifying horribly abusive co-dependent relationships.

All of the above. And they give people a completely false impression of the scene, so every man now thinks they are a dom

That's really interesting and informative thanks, I've only watched the first one with my ex. We watched it and she got quite turned on by it so wanted to watch it again straight away which lead to some great sex half way through watching it.

I didnt bother with the films after reading the books.

The one scene in the red room would have been utter shite and the rest of the books read like a Barbera Cartland novel.

Utter drivel

I enjoyed the books at the time.

I think they did massively positive things for our kind of lifestyles and people’s perception and acceptance.

Films are a right load of shite but again have helped the public begin to understand that having kinks isn’t necessarily the work of the devil.

At the time they came out I was running a munch, they brought a lot of people onto the scene but they also screwed up people's ideas of submission and more importantly the concept of actual informed consent.

It took education and quite a bit of time to help people understand how BDSM encounters and relationships should work, but I'm glad those people at least found the scene.

I'm still terrified about the people who never actually made it onto the scene to learn.

I thought it was a harmless romcom.

The BSDM people love to be elitist and superior and no one quite understands their lifestyle

Yawn.

It's a film for entertainment purposes- not a manual on how to get into a lifestyle choice.

It would be like watching Top Gun and thinking you could fly a plane

Get over yourselves and don't watch something you find so deeply offensive

I'm not sure it's me that needs to get over myself.

If you didn't see it as a manual to how to get into a life choice great... Plenty of people did...

BDSM isnt hard to understand really.

Do what turns you on, with who turns you on, as long as all parties fully understand the risks as well as the rewards it's all good.

How do so many people manage to start a debate on BDSM and people getting "over themselves" when Xmas is 4 days away.

I wish there were less entitled snowflakes in the world but we can't all get what we want.. Can we?

As for your question OP. As someone with 15 years experience in bdsm, and the right kind not the one that was fictionalised to be "bdsm", if you took the film for what it was.. Which is based on the books then it was an OK film.. I enjoyed the film as a standalone series.

If I was to look at it from a bdsm perspective - no it was not an accurate representation. I also understand where someone said it brought many people into the scene with the wrong intentions. Men mainly claiming they were Dominant and putting people's safety at risk. But we aren't talking about that. As a film I thought it was OK and kinda funny at times. Did it get me wet? No. Did it make people positively and openly talk about bdsm more.. Yes.

I mean it is what it is.

Merry fucking Christmas!

I tried the first book but could not get past the first five pages, it is truly badly written. That being said I tried reading the Story of O and gave up at page 15. It lacked informed consent in each situation the heroine was placed. I also tried "Beauty" as that was recommended and the heroine gets stripped, and paraded naked against her will. So I am puzzled why these other books are held up as the epitome of BDSM on matters of consent.

Personally I prefer The Marketplace books.

All I know is that I have done scenes with a number of women who got into BDSM through the books. The books validated what they felt and wanted to explore. I suspect it was more the hype around the book and the BDSM scene that brought the crowds in rather than the book itself. A bit like those visiting Torture Garden.

In any case the view of the dominant being caring and sharing is relative new, compared to the stereotype of the cruel and demanding domme/dom that has a lineage back to the Marquis de Sade and probably beyond.

I am not a believer in binary choices when it comes to human beings. Even those who state they are simple people tend to be complex. That being said I think it is the totality of the human mind and body that partly creates sensuality. I say partly as you have to add in experience, also the effect of the other person(s), the circumstances, and even what is to hand. All these various outputs will be different in each person.

"Sp what's the verdict on the fifty shades of grey films?

Interested to hear if the woman get turned on by the films and it scenes?

Have you got worked up by the scenes that you just had to fuck there and then?
