I've always found that a little odd as well and I dont know why because mash is lovely. Just seems out of place with a roast

Well as a Yorkshireman its always gonna be a pudding and if you don't agree you have not eaten pudds made by a Yorkshire lass.

Having said that the first time in my life i ate pudds as a desert it was served up by the anti Christ a Lancastrian lass.

But let’s stick to the narrative.

I’m all about the roast potatoes, but those Yorkshire people definitely elevated the pudding for me that it’s a regular on my plate - Even Christmas dinner
