Tbh I had a think about this last night

After watching it, I actually thought it’s the best representation that I have seen.

The couple where the lady had a bit of a break down l, I have seen happen a number of times and I have had similar issues, but cried but felt not in the right frame of mind

The single guy was well dressed ( I would have worn jeans and a jacked with a polo but that is me), the couples and single ladies were well dressed

What they didn’t show is the chats about the weather or work or music or traveling the mundane things that we sometimes chat about in clubs

Tbh, I did think it was a bit quiet for valentines. I certainly wouldn’t want to be videod in a swingers club

Combination of being filmed and it was around the time of storm Dennis so that would explain why it was quiet.

I think everyone has a bit of a freak out at least once, it can be a sensory overload or if it doesn't fit what scenario you've built in your head it can be a shock to the system.

For me it can be I am not on the right frame of mind. I could have been looking forward all day get to club then I just not up for it at all.

For others it’s drink related, sometimes it’s the expectations that they will fuck someone else. For me I am as happy watching as playing.

Really interesting to hear people’s thoughts on this.

Most people seem to feel like it portrayed ‘this thing of ours’ in a positive light over on another thread (that got closed because it was too big)

We felt It was definitely an improvement on the last ‘sex party secrets’ doc (which we have more than a passing interest in, sadly!) in the way that it didn’t seem to portray everyone as ‘damaged’ and search desperately for reasons as to why they can’t find love etc etc... but they did slip into that a little bit.

We thought the people involved came across well and had some good, grounding things to say.

We felt so sorry for the new-ish couple who had a bit of a meltdown (I mean - who hasn’t at these places... it’s such an intense, charged atmosphere and if you’re not used to it, it can be really overwhelming at first!) and really glad that it didn’t seem to put them off.

Only the people that responded were invited hence the low numbers. LE is normally packed with guests so it wasn’t a true representation of a normal night

It happens to the best of us!!! It happened to me this year. I didn’t cry but felt like oh shit I have offended the other party And my confidence went. I hadn’t at all.

Also a lady called me fat in a club and i lost all body confidence as well!!!! Not to my face but in earshot and I knew it was about me. Didn’t want to be in the club because of it that night

One of my favourite things about the kink scene is that so many men wear suits. When I went to kink events around the east Midlands, nearly all the dominant men wore suits. I loved that.

I know a guy who learnt tailoring in prison. Turned his whole life around. Bangs out the most amazing suits and alterations at real affordable prices. Well worth it.

Just normal people having a nice time.

I had a mini meltdown at my first club night. Was in a big group, but felt very alone as they all knew each other and I only knew a few.

Didn’t play. And left earlier than others.

Since then I have been a regular at kestrels and started attending Lux lounge. Now to get to VA when I can!

I'm glad that Siobhan has found enjoyment and fulfillment on her terms, she seemed a lovely lady.

Martyn came across very well - polite, friendly and respectful. Many single guys should take a leaf out of his book and stop hanging around playrooms like dogs on heat.

Malika seemed lovely too, she knows what she wants and how she wants it.

I felt sorry for the new couple - the husband seemed to want his wife to enjoy herself without being pushy, and I can understand that she felt a little awkward as she was too nervous to put herself forward. It can be difficult feeling like you've been rejected after thinking it was leading somewhere, but it happens to us all. If she can try and step out of her comfort zone a bit then hopefully things will improve. I hope they don't give up.

Didn't see that much of the other couple or the couple they were chatting with. I'd also have been interested in seeing this over a few episodes, perhaps visiting other clubs too and being a bit more in depth with those willing to be filmed.

Same. I think it’s luck of the draw if you turn up without arranging a meet there. Even without the sex with others, sex clubs are a good night out. No kn*bs at the bar, everyone’s nice, there’s a hot tub to enjoy and I quite like watching others. It really makes me question whether I want to go to normal bars on a rare night off.

One thing we weren’t that convinced about was the buffet!

Guess it’s personal choice but we’ve noticed a few clubs abroad doing it (not in Paris but one in Budapest we tried and one in New York) and we don’t really get it. Maybe we’re too paranoid about pickled onion/peanut breath or having stuff stuck in our teeth and need lighten up.

Is this a common thing in clubs around the country now?

Yeah this is not a good reflection of the ‘scene’ at all.

Haven’t watched it for ages but remember watching most of it through my fingers and cringing a lot.

Got the impression that channel 4 wanted to make that look as Much of a ‘freak show’ as possible, sadly.

As far as we know - it wasn’t at all scripted. We weren’t directed at all throughout. At least of in terms of what to say and how to act etc

These docs aren’t created like made in Chelsea and love island where they are set up.

They can ask questions that may lead you down a certain path but whatever comes out of the persons mouth is their own.

we watched it on All4 last night and everyone came across quite well, you did very well. We did say though that if we walked into a club and there were TV cameras there we would walk straight out again. it was a quest list only event held on a Sunday. It wasnt the cameras that kept people away it was the fact that it was the weekend of storm Dennis after the weekemnd of the other storm. So quite a few people couldnt make it due to heavy flooding and road closures unfortunately

Libs is great club good staff and nice owner, felt the programme could of chosen erm “better swingers” for the show if that’s the word. But not many would want it splashed all on tv that’s the difference, I don’t think the show fully reflects the scene and was humorous at times also if you get upset that you don’t play you shouldn’t be in the scene x
