So far today I've been told I'm fat (first message). Had a guy tell me he reported me (I turned him down). And a myriad of other begging or insulting messages

I've been here quite some time. Ive never had so many nasty messages.

What is wrong with men right now

However i must mention I've been on the receiving end from women who I've messaged to simply wish "a good day" and get little remarks back.

Just know op your not alone.. I've had lots of nasty messages recently and been called a number of unpleasant names all because I've said no I'm currently not meeting..

I no longer see any point in reporting as nothing ever seems to be done.. So I just block and move on.. There are more men that are great on here than the low life's that get off on abusing women.

Unfortunately it’s because of the types of messages that I ended up blocking single guys. I really didn’t want to do it but I’m not strong enough to not let these types of messages get to me.

I really do feel sorry for the genuine guys out there, all this type of stuff just makes it so much harder for you all and I wish I could just grin and bear it

Hi Dawn, just like itsonlymejay, I can only apologise.

It's clearly guys (I can't call them gentlemen) compensating for their inability to read a profile by being petty and nasty.

Worst case scenario, I sometimes send a second message, just because I know that womens inboxes can become very busy. If I get a no thanks, I always reply thanking them for taking the time.

A profile will only take a guy so far, I've started lurking and posting more in the forums, where hopefully my sparkling personality comes out

Again though, apologies in behalf of all the decent dudes on here.

Its always inappropriate for anyone to send abusive messages

The good fact is that anyone who would send abuse is not even worth the effort of starting a thread even less taking it personally

I did a thread the other day about abusive messages, it seems to be really common at the moment. I adjusted all my filters and blocked newbies etc and got up today to yet another one

feeling very disheartened and as much as I know not all men are the same it’s very difficult to believe it when I’ve so far spoken to just 2 polite men on here in 3 weeks. I don’t doubt for a second that some women can be just as bad I guess it’s just a case of continue to block and report when necessary

Sorry to hear that but can we stop putting all men in the same category, we're not all like that you know...I mean I could generalise about the kind of rude responses I've had to fairy innocuous first messages I've sent and say this is just women in a nut shell, I won't though because it's not true.

There's just generally idiots out there sometimes and you're gonna attract them on a sex site especially when they can hide their identities, it shouldn't be accepted but it has to be expected surely?

I have no issues with people meeting those they 'bubble' with but meeting new partners is not a good idea. Some think that you are not at risk of catching the virus, if you wear a mask whilst having sex...

We’ve not had any nasty messages yet .... we’ve had messages where people say that we are fake...and not genuine...

even though we’ve actually got a lot of stuff on our profile ... and have met people so if that’s fake i give up but I think sometimes people just do it for effect to get a bite .. just ignore them I’m sure you get far more nice messages that counter act the bad x

I think lockdown pulled in quite a lot of different men and attitudes in a very short time here, who generally expect 1 message and knickers dropped result. There'll be some natural attrition of these in a short time, especially as wider life opens back up. It's made it tougher for the other guys and newer people generally, who have fewer or no verifications, to help them to stand out.

I keep periods away from the inbox, to avoid the harsh aspects of it. Other than blocking new users and/or all men, there's little you can do.

They are stuck in with nothing but porn or their partner, I’ve had a few of those messages myself. They get nasty because they aren’t getting what they want. Don’t listen to them you are so much better than them.
