Songs that make you cry

Does anyone else just like to listen to emotional songs that make you cry?

If so what gets the tear ducts flowing?

On my own, Dance with my father, To where you are, This is me... are a few of mine.

Father and son - cat Stevens...

After I lost my dad, zero emotions... This came on the radio in the car and had to pull over for uncontrollable blubbing ... Brilliant

poignant song.

Music is wonderful for dragging all sorts of emotions out of people. Love music

It’s more a performance that really moves me rather than a song. But Eva Cassidy’s Songbird and Somewhere over the Rainbow are close. That said, I did cry listening to a song I heard recently called Six Feet Apart by Luke Combs. I heard it just as I was feeling sad at the thought of not seeing and hugging my parents as they are shielding and my concern at that time that they might die without me seeing them again. Thankfully since lockdown has eased we have had garden meetings every few weeks and I’ll see them again this weekend. ‘There will be light after dark.’

Cheshire

Chris and Stevie by Damien Dempsey. A song about the violent deaths of two of his friends.

As with great Irish singers the masculinity is present within the lyrics but also nostalgia and him expressing his deep pain of losing his friends.

The end of the song is almost like he’s begging the listener to talk about their feelings and reach out.

If you’ve ever been affected by suicidal thoughts or lost someone, I’d recommend the song.

Ditto.

Eva Cassidy Songbird and Over the rainbow.

Missin’ Yo’ Kissin’

I'm so sorry, I don't cry.... Just end up choking up instead! Does that count? It's not because I don't care. Just the way I'm made. Prefer to mentally fight & scrap & keep going on! To have a joke or two.

So.... The two tracks that gets me is:-

LINKIN PARK - "One More Light"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tm8LGxTLtQk

..and SIX.A.M - "Skin"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mr7t3jEDcrw
