Stan Ridgway - Camouflage

Paul Hardcastle - 19 (both of those were about Vietnam, oddly enough)

Goombay Dance Band - seven tears

Tight Fit - the lion sleeps tonight

And arguably the biggest was Jennifer Rush - The Power of Love. One of 3 hits by that name in the same year (the others were by Frankie Goes to Hollywood & Huey Lewis and the News), it was number one for ages, but she never troubled the charts again.

On a less sexy note..., I sometimes ask Alexa to play Starship.

She usually kicks off with 'we built this city', before 'nothing's gonna stop us now'.

Not technically correct. Her follow up single ring of ice made number 14 in the UK chart and number 1 in South Africa. But many slow sets in the 80s had with Jennifer warbling in the background.

They did have a couple of hits though - Who Can It Be Now is probably the best-known. Though LDU was far and away the biggest hit, not only number 1 but their only top 10 hit.
