Compulsory photo verifications

I think the time has come seeing as this site is free . To make it compulsory as a first stage entry to message by being photo verified You can look at profiles but you can't message unless you have proven verification to the fab admin by a photo with your profile identity . It would cut down on prolific time wasters . Your views please .

i don't see it would make any difference, for people who want to come and go, set up different profiles, it only takes a few seconds, and once their pic is verified there's nothing to prevent their other pics being fake, nor does it have any impact on their behaviour when they're on here.

This is not something that admin need to enforce. All people need to do is block from messaging those who are not either photo or meet verified.

Not sure it would to be honest, as with everyday life people will always time waste, usually people with nothing better to do we are not photo verified, never saw the need, would you say we are timewasters or not, who knows we could be!! Would you not want us to message you because we are not pic verified

I’m sorry, I am actually timewasting and teasing because we don’t do messaging, we only meet in clubs

But it shows that time wasters can come in all forms and being pic verified will not change that imho, Mrs blue eyes

But that would put so many genuine people off. Genuine people who like/need discretion.

There’s no way on Earth that we would give either our Passport or Driving License details to any third parties.

i doubt they'd have anyone left if we needed to disclose passport info! I really don't think it can be that hard to spot a fake...i've has messages from'women' that are fake profiles, it was glaringly obvious from the first line of the msg...i've also had plenty of messages from verified male profiles full of fake pics, so even meet verification can be easily faked.

By making it more difficult and by some of the posts you can see who's educated in thought processing. Let's do it this way photo verification means you can message maybe charge a fiver too for the privilege

the advantage of the site is that it is free, unless you chose otherwise, i'm sure the site owners are perfectly aware of the effect it would have on the numbers of women joining, in turn affecting the numbers of men joining, if they changed it to a paid membership site..and a fiver wont make any difference to someone who is deliberately trying to deceive people.. its nothing... i cant see why plain common sense isn't enough...it's hardly the sites fault if some people are so eager to jump at someone theyve barely spoken to, people need to be responsible for their own checks as well.

I tried to set up a new profile and it said I needed to be photo verified before I could enter the site. I also set up a profile and after about 24 hours I couldn’t access my account unless I got photo verified. This has happened on several occasions so it is in place.

If your time is being wasted by people who are not photo-verified, why not just restrict your interactions to people who are?

In response to admin that is a weak response when you could restrict in part at the first instance rather than let the members police it ?.. some non verified users have proven ok.. It's few and far between you can waste several hours or days even .

And imagine the revenue that could be raised by charging a fiver to get to first base .. It would limit the false profiles obviously some would get through but charging a fiver to make and allow messaging would surely deflect a few ?

We block contact from any non-verified profile and non-site supporting profile. As a result those, who should be arguably stopped by admin don’t bother us anyway. So it kind of makes no difference if we prevent them messaging us or if admin prevent them message by us.

In light of information and security issues with dating sites that were hacked formal I D is too extreme .. A fiver and No messaging for 48 hours then a restriction I'm sure would increase the socially inadequate that join .

If you were going to do that it would have to be professionally managed too, as it would be a paid for service - they couldn’t rely on volunteer mods like they do now, so the whole site would change & the fee would be huge to cover that!

it's not a match making service where the site is responsible for doing the work for you, it's just a platform to facilitate meeting others...it's not up to the site if people don't make their own judgements and use the tools that are there, as well as a bit of common sense! as already said several times, don't contact people with no photo verification if you feel thats a problem.

There are sites that charge a lot more and people on them complain of fakes and timewasters there too...time wasters have money to waste too...

they're also full of bots sending spurious emails to tell you that you've had a message but you can't access it until you've parted with money...if that's your preference then use the other sites, your filters or your common sense...

If you insist on photo verification,then ignore those that aren't.it really is that simple.

Stop dictating how others conduct their profile.just ignore.

I have no intention of getting photo verified. I did consider it but to have both hands holding the paper with my details on i would

have to get another person to take the photo. So no thanks, i,m meet verified and that should be good enough. X

I had a profile for over 2 year and had loads of verifications - was a couple on there but then most of the time on my own for various reasons. Kept profile as it showed I was genuine.

All the sudden I logged in and asked me for photo veri and couldn’t do anything else.

Was restricted completely. Any ideas?

Various reasons that I doubt Admin will say on the forum, but as soon as they PV they will be able to use the site.

It still isn't compulsory for 99% of members

Spot on.

As we understand it Admin is a pretty small group. That means few people to look after much, so why should Admin take on the problems that members can fix for themselves by such things as setting filters/blocking etc?

What next? Will we have people asking for members to receive an annual "performance" rating so would be "meeters" can maximise their opportunities for minimum effort?

Perhaps the performance results could be a bit like football: Premier League, all the way down to Div4 or whatever the bladder kickers call it these days.

We could have "penalties" too. People demoted from the Premier League if your performance/meetings ratio fell too much. Oh what fun to be had compiling league tables rather than just playing.
