I love the stories and fantasies but just wondered if anyone else would like them seperated.

Sometimes it's not clear if it's a true story or just fantasy, and as a result this sometimes starts unnecessary debates.

If they were separated it would be clear.

Just a thought as, I personally, prefer true stories.

You would still get debate as you get people not beleiving they are real, so it doesnt matterif they say they are real or not.

Just done a quick forum Search and I'm so glad I'm not the only one. I'd love of the stories were all together, not interspersed with 'i want to fuck someone's wife' or 'should I take a finger up the bum'

I think seperated categories would be a great idea however the lines also need to blur slightly in what's true and what's fiction.

Most of my true stories will have up to 20% fiction woven in with them to hopefully make them flow and be a more entertaining read.

I still consider these true stories and would hate to have to stick to 100% fact or be left to throw it under the fiction section.

As someone else has already mentioned I'll add my voice to the call to keep none stories out of the stories section. One liners, maybe two, do not belong in a story fantasy section. "I want to watch someone fuck my wife. Thoughts?" Isn't a fucking story.

Why not put a minimum word count on the OP that opens a new story thread? If you can't be arsed writing at least 500 words then it's really not a story at all and should be posted on your profile, or quick update. I'd like to see Short Story, Story and Novel (go shopping and grab some snack before reading) categories myself but won't push my luck

The twitter generation need to learn some things require a decent word count to even qualify as interesting to read.

Agree with you on these points.

However let's leave Stories and fantasies under the same umbrella as they are now.

This constant "let's improve Fab by making everything simplistic" as gets posted by some folk (not you) is also symptomatic of the instant gratification generation.

Surely one of the great attractions of the mixed grouping is that frisson of "Is it real or is it just a story"?

How hard would it be for those truly interested to message the OP and simply ask?

As for those who feel the need to turn a post in Stories and Fantasies into a psychological/social engineering discussion incorporating political correctness and thought policing I just shake my head.

Why do they bother? Somebody posts up a story (true or otherwise) and so long as it doesn't break Fabs rules then the only comments really needed are appreciation, possible correction of one or two daft typos and maybe a request for more if the story was good.

Nowhere does the Stories and Fantasies section begin with "Class: Attention please: Here follows a case study in xyz behaviour. Read it through and discuss at length at the end, suggesting appropriate corrective behaviour.

Perhaps what Fab needs is yet another forum: one headed "Here be case studies: fill your boots and dissect at will".

It occurs to me that the above might be a very good idea as it would mean those of us who just want to read the stories section can do so in peace.

We could avoid that new section like the plague and leave the interminable arguments/counter arguments therein to play to their own audience.

So many well thought out points of view that have been put forward and merit consideration by Fab. My tuppence worth is that the 'true' stories are, for me, usually the most enjoyable. I've read some of dPlanes excellent tales and would recommend them. His point regarding slight embellishment is well made and if I remember correctly dPlanes, you make it clear from the start that that is the case. I can hardly remember conversations I had today so I think it's accepted that when recounting an adventure from 10, 20 or ahem.. 30 years ago

... a certain amount of creative licence is necessary.

My enjoyment of the true or nearly true stories is that - poor me - I had a very vanilla sex life when I should have been making out like a bandit, so it's great to live vicariously (at least I think that's the phrase) through experiences shared by others.

Some of the fictional stories I've read ('Alice's revenge'-I think was one recent success) have produced results that some get from little blue pills.

As for the 'Anyone for wank on Skype over wife pics'.. Good luck to them but not in the Stories and fantasies' section please.

I always make fantasies very clear from the outset. Like most of you have said already the true tales tend to be the most exciting to read, and write as it happens.

With the true tales I usually try to summarise at the end how much was real v which bits were made up. Putting that at the start would require a spoiler alert

There is a significantly higher percentage of truth in them all though so I hope by the time someone reads to the end the embellishments are something they will forgive me for.

Recalling things that we got up to all those years ago is a mixture of real, remembered real and 'it went something like this' anyway. I'm lucky in that I still have a lot of the friends today that my stories are about. I fell in with the right crowd, or is that wrong( ? ), and we had an interesting few years to draw on. We are older and on the whole much more 'normal' today.

Some names are changed, some prefer initial and others are quite happy for me to use real first names, but, importantly I have a group of them read what I've written before I post it publically to make sure they are happy with the content I'm about to share. Occasionally they ask me to change things a little or drop certain things to make sure it's anonymous enough for none of this to come back and bite any of us. It's a fair trade off I'm happy to make to ensure I keep those friends for many more years.

Since I first thought about posting I setup a private WhatsApp group to share the text with them before posting and this has actually really helped in bringing back detail as well as things I'd forgotten about myself. I also get to hear their side so can mix that in with how I remembered it.

They are all so helpful and we've had a really good laugh to boot going over old times.

All new posts on Fab go through a word check routine, there are certain words they don't like used on here, so it should be fairly simple to add a word count check.

I believe that one simple change would dramatically improve the reader experience and give them a higher chance of finding things worthy of being called a story and relegate discussions to the discussions forum.

Is part of the reason it's under subscribed not due to the lack of actual stories though? It's discouraging to click through a dozen links with something you can read in under a minute.

I'm all for people having a go, and would encourage more people to try, but should they not be stories instead of a sentence or single paragraph?

Just a thought but some other sites keep the story, written in one go, yes a challenge for some. The comments then flow below for those debaters book markers and general abusers lol Then if there’s a sequel post a. Part Two! Lol easier to read the story than scroll through praise seeking. Shall I continue. And the host of hell yes or similar lol

From a reader's point that's what spoils the flow. Scrolling past the comments to find the next chapter.

On posting I'm as guilty as everyone else of not posting the whole thing in one go though. I try to do between 2 to 3 thousands words at a time so at least when people have to scroll through to find the OP posts they easily stand out.

I guess Fab isn't a story site though, it's a swinging site with a forum section for stories. It's not their main aim but a few small changes could make the stories section so much more user friendly. I think there are enough of us on here who enjoy reading and writing them so any enhancements would be appreciated I'm sure.
