I seen some ai generated cartoon style photos on here, would they have been spotted and rejected before?

We think this is a brilliant idea! Great to see the fruits of your hard work being implemented on the site. Would it possible to have the new verification system give a similar date stamp to a meet or cam verification on a users profile? Would be great for other users to see when an account was verified this way. Would it also be possible to add a re-verification system? We know some users take extended breaks, in some cases years pass with no verification, the Verify Instant method could give them a quick way to show they're still genuine and active together.

Tried using the new INSTA method to verify our profile. It’s taking too long for the pictures to get verified. Waited about 10 minutes before giving up. Not sure if we are doing something wrong.

Thanks for the info. Something went wrong probably when we were trying to do ours. Will give it another try later.

I am serious about this. There are already so many fakes on here. Why not make everyone who has verified, verify again within a month or so. If they don’t, they lose verified status.

It’s pointless some of us getting photo verified, I’ve been on the site since 2012 Ish, yeah, I’m not photo verified, but would you rather A.I decide whether or not I’m a person based on a photo, or rely on the 148 people that have actually met me in person and left me a verification

That’s your opinion, but the amount people who have verifications yet aren’t who they say there is quite numerous, so I don’t think it is pointless. They might even wish to leave. Even better.

I'd definitely be for a a sitewide reverification if this new method really is effective.

Equally to limit disruption, you could change the requirements, e.g. any account under a year old without verifications has to reverify or similar

So if a new member uses this - do they get the little green photo verified flag like usual? Or is there a way to differentiate? If that’s the case, this initiative does not seem to have worked.

Since the insta update - I’ve been observing plenty of new (fake, with twokked content / ai images) accounts signing up and quickly getting photo verified. I report as many as I can be bothered too, and a lot get taken down.

I give myself the spooks every time I go into my photos. 🤣

But genuinely, in data protection side of it, can users requested their photo is removed, either just the photo, and lose the veri, or if they delete their account will all their data be automatically removed?

Agreed with others asking for site wide re-verification. I suggest not as a mandatory but optional. And maybe give these people a different label to the current veri emoji with a camera next to it or some such.

Hmm. Reading the comments it sounds like there still a ton of fake profiles getting through. So it seems the system isn’t (yet) fit for purpose.
