Body type filter

When we create our profiles, we but in a body type.

Would it be possible to filter on this?

I like curvy bbw's and it would be helpful to narrow down my searches on this

Asked and suggested this countless times as have others. It's the number 1 thing that fab seem to deliberately not do. Hence why it makes it appear that the whole site really is ran by larger women for larger women and making it difficult for people to select / search based on body shape which like it or not is right up there as one of the main preferences people have .. ??? ... Think thin slim curvy ample fabulous ? What do even half those mean ??

I'm slim athletic . Not curvy, not large at all.

But people state on their profiles, what their body types are? Or does it annoy you to click on a profile and see a larger body. As your post seems to show contempt for bigger women?!!!! Nothing wrong in having a preference, but gosh, why sound mean about it?!

Some people are very good at photographing at the right angles!

Don’t get me wrong, I’m pleased that they’re showing off their best side/features but it can make it difficult to determine if they’re right for you or not!

There's a whole matrix of which types may fancy and want to find which other body types, including those who don't care and are open to any and all.

But it's silly, when we've got the data on the site, not to be able to an 'Advsnced Search' and include or exclude, the types that you want to filter for. Fab must surely be about the only site where people are looking for physical engagement with others, where there's no ability to search by physical characteristics.

Yes. Plenty.

To answer the OP's question.

Filters are a useful start point. But as all info is user defined, from age, height, sexuality, smoking...and yes...body type....a search is only going to be useful if accurate data is input in the first place.

What 'average' or 'curvy' means to one person will differ to the next. Your results would be skewed based on the opinions of others, not your own definitions.

It's why photos are really useful.

This is such a weird omission in Fab, and such a weird and off-topic conversation about it for several people.

We already specify age, ethnicity, sexuality and a whole bunch of other self-attested attributes. Given physique may be a big influence on attractiveness for many people, why not height and body type as well?

The fact people can lie about it or disagree on *exactly* what constitutes "athletic" or "curvy" is irrelevant; they can lie or disagree about ethnicity labels or lie about age as well, and we can still filter on those.

As people have said, being able to filter on attributes is an extremely useful first pass to reduce the hundreds of thousands of profiles on fab to a smaller, more manageable number where you can then look at a given profile's photos to get a better understanding of whether they're being honest or not.

Hell, we can filter on *sexuality* already, and with the ability to control your own pictures and the verifications that are visible on your profile that's not even something you can necessarily verify *at all* from looking at someone's profile, or even from meeting them in person!

It's genuinely mystifying why Fab refuses to implement this when they already let you filter on so many more, even less relevant or reliable attributes.

I'm not sure this would work for a couple of reasons, firstly some people, especially those with no photos, just lie.

Also, some peoples self assessment of body type can be a little off the mark.

For me, if you like the look of someone, then you message them.

However, if they have no photos, then that's a bit of a red flag anyway!

Two people could weight the same be the same height but body proportion be completely different.

Someone’s idea of curvy would be fabulous or someone’s idea of athletic could be slim. It’s impossible other than with photos and since I’m a larger girl my self I always have a social first so the couple can see me in person and decide if my size is an issue or not. Lucky for me so far it’s not been an issue but I know that won’t always be the case.

Ironically I don’t like slim/lanky men I prefer either gym fit or dad bods. Not sure what that would come under as ‘ body type’ on here but hopefully the users would have photos that were sufficient for me to tell…

This definitely needs to be implemented, there's so many large women on here and if that's not your thing it gets a bit off putting, you can literally filter everything else. Also there needs to be a feature added where you can select what sex can see your photos I get so many dudes liking my photos and that is definitely not my thing

Sure, and someone claiming to be straight might actually be bi by someone else's definition. People lie about their age all the time, and one 55 year old may look 40 while another may look 65.

None of the existing filters are perfect, but they're still useful ways to filter down the hundreds of thousands of profiles on fab to a small enough number you can easily view them in more detail.

If one person's "average" is another person's "curvy" then someone who likes a few curves can filter on *either* in different searches.

But in easier case unless the profile owner is truly delusional it's going to filter out all the slim/athletic types from "large/fabulous" searches, and all the BBW/BHMs from someone searching for "average", etc, etc.

If people arguing a filter has to be perfectly objective (or unfakable) or it's worthless are inherently implying that all the existing filters are worthless, and that's self-evidently not true.
