Woman as couple

I keep finding couples profiles where they're actually a single woman. I report these when I find them, but it seems that this doesn't get fixed because I often come across the same profile again days later.

I notice these because our search preferences are for couples only.

Oddly I hardly ever find the same thing with men.

I wonder why these problems don't get fixed after reporting. Do the mods see this as acceptable and let it slide?

"What makes you think they are single women?? "

You can usually tell. Such clues as no details in the second person, or "me again" on the second person, or words such as "single now" in the text.

It's not just an isolated case. I've got at least 5 examples just from our usual searches.

It sounds like they have been changed to a couple after a report and have not added details

"I think you might have too much time on your hands!"

Is time spent on Fab wasted?

Sure it wasn't the fella... That is definitely, quite often, the case

Yea.. It wouldn't be so surprising if it was a male.

Unusual for a single female to pretend to be a couple.

When you're a couple like us, it's usually one of us doing the typing on Fab. Therefore its quite easy to write saying 'me' or 'i' even though we never message or post without the other being aware. I always try to use 'we' & 'us' to avoid people wondering if its a single male.

Also seeing a lot of the opposite - single women profiles who always have in their text "looking for someone for me and my partner"... so you're a couple then!

Those are the types that I think get changed to couple as outlined in the OP

some women have a FB or FWB so sometimes they are a couple but sometimes they are single

I reported someone yesterday who wanted £80 for drugs, before sex. They are still on the site

Reports can take up to 48 hours to deal with. Depending on the report depends on whether people get a warning or not before being disabled

If everyone who broke a rule on the site were disabled straight away then half of you wouldn't be here.

Here is an explanation from Admin from another thread on how they deal with reports.

******Just a quick note. If people report others and we can verify that they have broken site rules, we always take action (either a first and final warning, partially suspended account, fully suspended, mixture of the above).

Every single report sent via the REPORT link is reviewed. Clearly it's not in our interests to have people on here who are bad for the site. Equally we need to verify what has been reported and be fair to those who have been reported.

Admin

PS. we never provide feedback on what has happened. It's just not practical given that we get 100s of reports a day.

Here is what the page says after a report has been submitted:

--

Your feedback has been saved.

A website admin will shortly review your feedback and take the necessary action. After reviewing the evidence available to us, we may disable an account, remove a user, disable certain aspects of that user's account or issue a warning.

By leaving feedback you help improve the site for everyone who uses it. Thank you.******

"It sounds like they have been changed to a couple after a report and have not added details "

This if they are a single female account who insist there partner is involved to any degree even just watching etc then the site will change the profile to a couple.

"Thats a bit odd ,we normally find it's a single bloke or the male half of a coupe ,never normally a single woman "

I don't have much engagement on the site outside the forums but in 5 years here I've chatted to at least 20-25 couples where either the male half is no longer involved or never existed in the first place.

These are all well verified profiles and often the conversation ends when I ask about their hubby/partner or they ignore the question.

Some of them have admitted to being single women using a couples profile for added security and most of their veries refer to the fact that they only met the female half.

I also know of instances where couples have broken up but the woman has found a new partner and continued to use the original profile with its existing verifications.

In one case the breakup was very public across the site and she advertised for a replacement which she found within days and the only part of the profile that was amended were some pics added of the new addition.

People tend to be very blinkered at times on here and don't want to believe that this goes on and it's always assumed that only men are capable of using smoke and mirrors.

There are many male profiles on here that are also run by women either for safety reasons or to befriend and keep an eye on their competition and often when women have a no show it's because the person they have been chatting to wasn't actually male at all.

I understand that and I have seen some cases like this. But all the ones I mentioned here (not named here obviously) were 100% single, everything about the profiles indicated a single woman, the text, the veris, everything.

HOWEVER... I have checked all 5 again now. Three of them have been changed to woman, one is no longer there, and just one remains as a couple, so I have reported again with a lot more detail. So now I know my reports are not being totally ignored, which is reassuring.

No one will be able to tell what a person is reported for just going on the profile.

It could be when people try and arrange a meet with what they think is a single female going by their profile when they are then told it is a couple they are speaking to.It happens a lot as many people who have talked about it on the forum could tell you.

Sometimes what people see on the outside is not always the full story .

It is good that people report but if you are keeping watch on those profiles to see what happens to them, be prepared to accept that your reports may not be dealt with the way you want them to be. There may be other factors that you don't know about

PS a reminder for all, reports are not instant, they can take up to 48 hours to be dealt with, sometimes longer if really busy
