"Electric hookup is what most people want, no fun trying to make a battery last all weekend " Assuming you are talking about caravans or Motorhomes then when going to a music festival your batteries have to last for the festival or you pay megabucks for a hook up IF they are available.

You don't always need power. We are going off grid for five days next weekend, the gas will power the fridge and cooking, the solar and batteries take care of the lights and radio. I'd rather have a good swingers campsite without hook up than no swingers campsite at all.

Managed just fine in tents for years without hook up and our dub as yet has very little in the way of power in the back. Mr H. Maybe a small on site shop for essentials, especially if you can pop in naked Mr H.

"The perfect campsite? I'd ask for the following: - Some pitches with electric hook ups - A good indoor space with seating and things to do (stuff (porn?!) to read, a pool table, etc - A decent sized hot tub/jacuzzi - Use of a fridge and freezer - Enough clean toilets! - Warm water for washing up - More than one camping area - perhaps a quiet zone and a.. Well, a noisy zone! - Interesting trails into woods and/or meadows, with seating and outdoor play areas - Car camping should be allowed - Not too pricey; I reckon £35 per night is a good maximum - Sun loungers! - Food available on site (simple stuff like pizzas or burgers would be good enough) - Kitchenette area with kettle and microwave - Naturism friendly/mandatory - Level pitches, not all crammed together, and without thistles or fruit trees that attract wasps - Single men allowed (respectable ones at least) - Tight rules about not being a pest ...I think that's it - I don't ask for much! Seriously though I've tried to list all my favourite things from a variety of clubs and campsites I've been to and I wish you all the luck putting your plans into action - I'll definitely be booking a visit as soon as you're up and running Also, I live in Folkestone so I'm not a million miles away from you - if you want me to come and help you plan things, I'd be more than happy to (a fresh pair of eyes might be useful), and if you have any camping spaces this summer let me know - I'm always looking for somewhere new to stay for a night or two " I think the above is reasonable as it caters for those of us with a tent too, not all of us have campers. Singles should be allowed too - not all of us are Neanderthals (see my veri) - though I appreciate we may be a minority. Groups of single men may be a different proposition however!!!

We have a few small powerpacks that we pre-charge, & a larger 100w/hr pack that recharges on a solar panel. Its enough to run our tent light & charge our phones & kindles. What else do you need?

"Also, to be able to have a fire! It's not camping if you can't sit by the fire with a glass of red wine." Abso (flaming) lutely. Your not camping unless you smell of smoke. Or is that an arsonist?
