We’re visiting Llangollen for the first time in a few days. Any tips on places to visit or decent pubs to eat in.

There'd Corn mill, on the river is good

Take a walk, or boat trip along the canal, or a train ride up to Carrog (The Grouse is a good pub there)

If you're feeling energetic walk up to the castle way above the town, or more leisurely, Valle Crucis Abbey

If visit still not happened..

Suggestions...

Probably as poster above stated.. Cornmill is best food pub...

As you walk off the bridge up the main street, there's a wee lane on your right, there's a small narrow bistro, between it and the bridge..

About 100 yards down that lane... Got outside decking overlooking the rapids.. Full flow at the moment after recent rain..

Also gales wine bar.. Turn left opposite lane for cornmill.. Past royal hotel war me memorial just after bensons opoosite Chinese...

Pubs

Bensons

The bridge (other side of river)

Bull (younger element)

What was Wynnstay now eagles (just up from gales) more of a food venue now..

The Prince next to Co op on a5.. (rugby guys)

Bit beyond coop is sun... Live music late bar..

Then star.. Late disco probably no more than 20 in it and chatty barmaid..

2 Indian restaurants (one nearest lights probably best)

1 Chinese as mentioned...

To do..

Nice walk along river through park

The canal... Boat ride or walk to its source at horseshoe falls..

Castle Dinas bran... Hike up hill to castle ruins overlooking town..

Plas Newydd... Home of the ladies of llangollen.. Seen as icons amongst gay community..

Train ride.. If steam buff..

Snacks..

Welsh oaties from Gerrards bakery..

And you'll have to try an OGGIE... Cornish have pasties.. We have oggies... The delicatessant 2 or 3 doors down from tourist office towards bridge...

Enjoy.... Though will couple of days be enough..?
