Would you be put off by text talk? For example if someone who was just your cup of tea messaged you "hey bbz u or8? Wot u up2?" Would that result in an instant block?!

Surely it's more difficult to do with modern phones and predictive text etc?!

It's just pure laziness and sometimes takes twice as long to read... in addition I feel it also shows a lack of intellect.

Definitely put off by it. If they are lazy at messaging it doesn’t bode well for everything else.

We lose interest pretty fast when we receive these kinds of messages.

Doesn’t make a blind bit of difference to me , I usually start off normal and end up talking like that as it’s quicker , but certainly doesn’t put me off just the way somebody texts / messages etc

Is a bit off putting, especially in the days of the smart phone where there's no excuse. 20 years ago getting thumb ache typing a word I could see the point but not nowadays.

Absolutely, with full QWERTY keyboards and autocomplete and autocorrect on all but the most antiquated devices, there is no real excuse to continue to use pure "txt speak", however I don't mind the odd use of "lol" etc.

I find text talk disruptive, and not even remotely seductive.

You would never get me to a social let alone into bed with it.

We don't mind if its the occasional word in text speak but full sentences in text speak can be off-putting. Wouldn't be put off by spelling as very easy to make a typo

I sometimes use "lol" but messages with text speak get ignored and deleted. Mainly because I don't understand what it says...

Yeah but lol is different, it's adding a bit of emotion to a text to show your saying something jokingly. Typing things like knw is just lazy. I mean is it really that hard to hit the bloody o button!! Sorry rant over

And the donkey in the room as to explain what’s going on here. I get peoples frustrations on txted talking and spelling.. but what do you really think people talk in txt form when you meet ? Everyone who as put a comment on here as used a txt format at some point due to the way the world is going. And if anyone can judge someone because they put u rather then you. Personally I would have to tell that person to get off the high horse.. I’m as common as the next person and the one before me to. But what response would you get and what would your views be if posted this on your Facebook where sexually pleasure was not something that was potentially involved... and remember the next post will be about the fakes on the site I’m sure that list as got a little bigger now that’s a rant and a half happy fabbing

In my opinion people who use text speak . May be very nice in reality but come across as being in too much of a rush to chat. Text speak seems to take the thought out of a conversation as if they want to get it out of the way as quick as possible.

It only takes a few extra minutes to write proper messages and replies and shows your making the effort

But that is just my opinion

Text talk is awful. I read out loud more often than not so I prefer the fluency of correct grammar. Trying to read text talk instantly puts me off.

It's a pet hate of mine. I'd much prefer a well written message with good spelling. Or at least an attempt at it if someone does have bad spelling. I think text talk is lazy, especially when you're trying to sell yourself on here with your messages. As someone said earlier about modern phones with precursive text, there's really no need to use it.

Once you get to know someone well enough I guess it's more acceptable.
