Parking for social on 5th

I've started this so as not to clog up the proper social thread. Anyone know good cheap spots to park near the venue?

Also, whats on that weekend that's sent hotel prices so high? Decided to skip booking one this time round, will drive down and back same day, probably arrive early (yuh...with Jaynes reputation thats not likely lol!) and hook up for pre-drinks.

There is a pay and display car park on the same road as the venue. It is a 2 minute walk, unless jane has heels on then it's a 10 minute walk as it's up hill lol.

Is it cheaper than the one next to the Travelodge, cos that one is fucking expensive? Was hoping to grab a space at the venue, if we are early enough...which when Jayne is around never happens lol

Yes, friends of ours got not one, but two fines for overstaying their ticket times... robbing bassads!

One thing you got to watch now with that carpark is it a max of 6 hours parking, some people got caught out and got a fine for staying over 6 hours.

Might be cheaper to "park and ride" if you can hit a happy medium, find a cheaper carpark a little further out and grab a taxi there and back.

I spotted the hotel prices as well, and am still therefore unsure if I can attend. I was thinking of parking my van and having a camp out in one of the car parks but the max hour parking limit kills that in the town centre.

Might be racing you for an early spot at the venue at this rate.

Check out the prices for the car park above the travel lodge, not the travel lodge one x

Travelodge rooms tend to be much of a muchness, clean and basic. The differential is if you get a window with a nice view or one overlooking the bins.

The public car park is OK just across the road & up the hill a bit. But be warned: pay for the number of hours you expect to be there, plus a bit. If you overstay, even at 1a.m. they have attendants patrolling & issuing tickets....!!!

We always park the camper in the one just up the hill other side of the road... £6 there are usually a few of us parked there (Afterparty's are always the best)

Usually too busy either getting ready, or having fun after, to be looking out the window lol

Looks like I won't be making the social, but on Monday I took a walk around the near by parking to understand prices. Happy to share info if ppl need it. Won't name in the thread as give the game away re the venue. Feel free to message. There is one that stands out as best option..

little town called home

If you are parking after 8 you can use the residents parking bays on surrounding streets until 8 in morning

So what’s the consensus then, I mean where’s the best place to park if you don’t know Newport very well?
