Had the procedure twice.

Painless but unpleasant all the same.

Where are you going to have it done? The Royal?

As you are driving, you will not be able to have sedation. Gas and air is usually offered but the nurses will go through a check list with you to check that there are no contraindications to you having it. The gas and air stays in your system for around 30 minutes and you will be ok to drive afterwards. Some patients say that the worse part is the air that they fill you with. You are encouraged to break wind though to relieve the discomfort. Ladies sometimes have a tougher time, especially if they have had a hysterectomy as the bowel occupies the space the uterus was in. Hope you manage the procedure ok

Everyone's tolerance is different. Some people manage the procedure with nothing at all...

Had it with no sedation 3 years ago. Removed 3 polyps and diagnosed me with divarticular (sp?) as well. Fits nicely with my hiatus hernia.

Stress really messes your insides up!
