I have just discovered about the use of socials to meet new people. It seems you do it right in Wales. As a Londoner meeting new folk can exasperating.

I like the more casual nature that you seem to have in Wales.

Since I am planning a trip there soon could someone(s) provide me with the rules, etiquette and dos and donts.

Are out-of-towners accepted?

Firstly OP, get your name down in the forum thread of the event you have in mind.

Secondly, book a hotel room for yourself close to the venue unless you are willing to either sleep in your car or return home.

Thirdly, remember that you will be one of dozens of single guys who attend and so women who are attending will be able to be choosy about whom they interact with.

Fourth, do not expect anything at all. Don't assume that just because you turn up that you are guaranteed 'action'. You will do well if you manage to strike up conversations with people and they remember you well enough to leave you a Veri the next morning. Other than that, everything else is a bonus. Remember, it's always a social only event, there is no play allowed anywhere in or near the venue. That's what hotel rooms are for.

Fifth, you will only get out what you put in to the evening. So mingle, try and chat. Approach people with the aim to talk instead of have sex with them. Probably a good idea to not even mention play at all when at socials. Don't be the type of guy who sits on his phone alone in the corner all night, or at the end of the bar waiting for someone to feel sorry for you and approach you.

Sixth, have fun! Usually there is music, so even if you don't dance well (I am crap but I still try) you will have people who will be dancing and that's a good way to strike up conversation.

Lastly, do not get d*unk. Well, okay, do not get wasted. You will only embarrass yourself and find yourself unwelcome at future events no matter how much you promise to behave the next time.
