From my very quick scan of the topic using my google-fu

I doubt this will affect fab as its not considered a commercial site. They are already asking to verify you are 18 at sign up which should be sufficient.

The only possible issue would be the landing page prompting for age acknowledgment. You could also consider fab as an adult dating site much like tinder whether that would fall into the new laws is debatable.

Then there is the stipulation that ONLY visitors from the UK are subjected to the checks.

On a personal note I would never ever give my bank details over to fab or it's third party payment system

I reckon that it is this simple. To be able to look at porn websites, it will be necessary to prove that you are legally old enough to look at pornography.

In simple terms, I would expect that subscribers to fab will have paid a subscription charge and by doing so will have also proven that they are old enough to look at fab / hold a bank account, have a credit card etc.

This could be a good thing as it will dramatically reduce the amount of "free" members and make it far more difficult to create free _rofiles of 19 yr old single women looking to meet anyone of any age.
