I am heading to Aberystwyth end of Jan and wondered if anyone could recommend any meet friendly hotels - ie - hotels where you don’t need key cards to access lifts to get to a room or corridors. Also where reception staff are not like hawks lol

The scene around Aberystwyth is very poor.

I have a caravan just up the coast at Ynyslas, making accommodating very easy yet getting meets is very difficult.

Best of luck OP

Very little price difference between 1 person in a premier inn or two, book the room for two and tell reception your partner is joining you later.

Most of the major chains aren't bothered as long as your noise in the room doesn't attract complaints.

"Premier inn maybe, sterling cloud"

Premier inn has both lift and corridors access issues - both need a key card - so inviting someone means meeting them in the lobby (in cd mode) which isn’t very discrete fit anyone

Hotels in general won't bat an eyelid if you're not causing a scene or making noise which other guests report.

Just be brazen and walk through with the guy, it's when you act awkward that draws attention to yourself.

Ask for ground floor room and pass the card out through the window if you're that worried.

It's a 38ft static with a large en suite master bedroom.

Have you ever met in a caravan...

Just like a bungalow these days...

Do you actually know where the Premier Inn in Aberystwyth is! I think passing the key out through the window would draw more attention on the main prom in town. Aber is a bit tricky with hotels to be honest.

There are a number cottages that are at the top of pengalis hill on the B4572. They are out of the way and even have a hottub. You should find them on booking.com.

And even trickier with meets, going by experience in the past. I don't know what it's like the past 18 months or so though, but it used to be dire back then...very few women would even chat let alone meet for a social.

The better area for the swinging scene in Wales is further North

Out onto the Lleyn Peninsula.

Places like Bangor, Caernafon and around Porthmadog.

Aberystwyth is about 90 minutes from the closest of those, longer if you head to the Western edge of the peninsula.

I’m guessing you’ve not been to Aberystwyth in January before

I really like the place, but it’s a small, quiet town. People don’t “hang out”, more huddle in groups to avoid the battering from the storms .

I’m sure there’s some Fabbers around, but it wouldn’t be like in a big city.

I do know where it is as I've stayed there,

Two people talking through an open window as if it's a friend in the car park and passing the key discretely is hardly likely to draw attention.

Like I said previously, just book the room for two and it's job done.

It's a hotel so they're used to most things and usually they only draw the line if neighbours complain about noise.

Can you change your destination to North Wales and the Lleyn Peninsula?

Bangor or Caenarfon area seems to be far more active on here.

Dont believe there is many sheep in aber itself, gulls yes! And the white lightning has been replaced by other drink and cocaine unfortunately
