Photo Advice ...no really!

Pontypridd/Rhyfelin

We just been looking at a few pics & whilst the selfie is one of the major advances made by human kind in the last 20 years, they are mostly very unflattering.

The close distance means you tend to get a wide-angle view on most camera phones which simply accentuates features, making them look way bigger than they really are.

Now granted that can be a benefit on here -wouldn't take a cock shot with anything else.

But for flattering full body photos a camera placed a couple of metres away, utilising the self timer, produces a far more flattering result portraying those few extra pounds as just that, instead of looking like quite a few extra ...kilos!

I trust this advice won't lead to an explosion of selfie cock shots...no pun intended.

What's your best photo advice...?

[just know going to get hammered for all the selfie pics on our profile now!!!]

Best advice for taking pics I have to offer is plenty of lighting and having someone to take the pics for you....

No filters would be my advice, I'm guessing you won't have a rosy glow, big dewy eyes & cute ears when you meet for real X

Has anyone else nearly pulled a muscle trying to extend their arm an extra couple of inches when taking a selfie??

Or is it just me!?

There are a couple of reliable guys on here who do photo shoots with decent equipment (not that you mucky-minded lot!), we have often thought about doing a shoot, probably will get round to it at some point.

Been tempted to cart along all the camera gear to the occasional 'club' photography days we've seen advertised, to do our own 'glamour' set (and put all the evening class skills to good use...really!) but never been in the right place at the right time.

Just think of all the dungeon themed snaps you could take...

West Wales and Cardiff

The best advice is definitely to get someone in who has taken these kind of photos before.

*cough*

Otherwise, I’d say try to use natural light, avoid use of the internal flash, vary angles and try to use a wide aperture to blur backgrounds.

Ensure you have a good source of light, natural or a difussed flash.

Relax

Have a "few" drinks to ensure you are more relaxed as these make for better shots.(not pissed up, 2 or 3 to get merry). If your having pics done make sure you trust the guy/Girl so your at ease.

Longer focal length lenses are more flattering over a wide angle.

Hope you get the results you want.. xx

That made me lol because I was thinking of you when I wrote it, you're naturally beautiful but you hide it behind the filters. Get your smile on & be real X
