Why would anyone hide a verification?

Lots of reasons why a verification isn't visible. The person who wrote it may no longer be on site. The profiles may have issues since and one or both has blocked (this hides the Veri). Another might be that the receiver doesn't like the phrasing or the content. They are unsolicited after all. It might be because a single guy has left a Veri when the couple for example state they are only looking for women. This scenario is likely when a club or social meet by chance has occurred.

There are lots of reasons.

Also, if the veri inadvertantly (or otherwise) gives clues that could reveal the identities of the person being verified.

I do this too. Show the more recent ones. I've had shit for having all my verifications showing or the verification count. Apparently nearly 6 years of verifications and mostly socials which my profile states still classes me as a slag!!

I've also been questioned why I've 34 varies in 4 months. Nearly all are from friends but it's still been picked up. I've hidden everything now lol

People use their profiles how they see fit and some like to be discreet.

It could be argued that you have put no effort into your profile as its a one liner. No effort in your profile equals no effort in a meet in some peoples eyes.

Yes my profile is short as well but it explains what Im after....nothing.

We've had a few "interesting" chats about the amount of veries we have, but when I point out they cover 9 years, and a lot are from socials and other events, some people are cool, others just don't get it and think we are at it every week, and nothing you will say can change their minds... its a useful filter lol!

Verifications should be about showing that the member is a real person and proof that other members have met them, regardless of whether it’s a sex meet or a social one. It often reads like someone’s sexual history, which can be off putting to many. We don’t need to know what went on or who it was with, just that it was another verified member they/we met, to confirm the basics, that the person is real.

I don’t show all of my verifications for this reason. It also gives the other person privacy from others making assumptions, especially if the guy is not as straight as his/their profile states, which is fine with me, as long as it’s not behind their partner’s back.
