Just found out that I'm going to be staying in the capital for a couple of nights at the end of May/start of June.

The way timings have worked out, I have a whole day to myself to explore the city, is there anything anyone could recommend for me to do? (:

Stadium tour if that's you're thing. Slap bang in City centre. Great parks better pubs. If you like Ale it's arguably a better beer city than Edinburgh.

National museum is good (Got Rodin's The Kiss) but St Fagans is the best museum in Wales if you can work out the busses.

As for evening fun and sexy times, the city centre is essentially a war zone every Friday and Saturday night. If you are staying on or near St Mary's street the fun may well find you. You'll see many "sights". And the warm welcoming buzooms of many amaorus Valleys girls d*unk on life and Bacardi, welcoming you to their beautiful "hills and valleys".

Chipie Alley is our Culinary peak.

True enough but Valley girls have a rep. Especially Rhondda girls.

Thank you for the suggestions (/warnings? :p)! A great bunch of advice, maybe I'll survey the locals on the correct name of the chip road...

I'm from Cardiff and I've always called it Caroline St (I'm from the posh part of Cardiff though)

I thought only people who were from outside of the area called it Chippy Lane or Alley

Cardiff Castle may be.

If the weather is nice pop down to Cardiff Bay for food and drinks.

Enjoy Cardiff xx

Port Talbot

Actually the National Museum in Cathays Park is well worth a visit. Its in walking distance from the castle, has a fabulous art gallery with paintings depicting the sweep of Wales's history, and some amazing architecture too.

Cardiff is fabulous. You'll have a ball.

Mold

There's a midweek social being organised at the beginning of June in Cardiff, if you want to meet some of the locals.

There's a thread running in here
