Agree with this - it really depends whether you are after load, raucous places and a full-on night or more relaxed places with nice beer and maybe some decent food.

You’ll get a very different impression of Cardiff depending on which you go for

Looking for nice cocktail style bars but also possibility of moving on to a club poss as evening progresses.

For cocktails start at Chapel 1877, then move on to the Dead Canary, and possibly on to Lab 22 and you're heading towards Mill Lane where there's a lot of bars etc.

What Jack said Also Peppermint do nice cocktails and a 2 for 1 deal up til a certain time. Missoula is quite nice too and cheap compared to most in Cardiff!

Be at one for the better cocktails .. 2 for 1 till about 8 .. mill lane around the corner for more bars an clubs

Personally I think Be at One have the best range and quality of cocktails in Cardiff, though you pay extra for that if you go outside of "buy one get one free" happy hours.

Buffalo Bar is a really nice place & slightly off the beaten track. It’s down one the side-streets at the bottom end of Queen Street.!

Also, google the Pen & Wig. This is a stunning little bar, with a nice outdoor area, not too far from the Museum/Student Union..
