Keep it simple, don't over-think it.

All folks want is a safe place to socialise, make friends and perhaps play.

For the first time, I'd try to keep it small, and invite those you have met, and build from there.

If you haven't met many people, then perhaps invite others, but vet them, check they have veries, and keep the ratio more tipped towards couples, with a few guys for the greedy girls lol.

Try to have a buffet, but no need to worry about cost, get guests to "bring a plate" to contribute.

Remember, its your home, so make clear any rules you have, like if certain areas are out of bounds, no smoking indoors, that sort of thing.

Mingle, introduce people to others if they look a bit lost, and try to have fun yourselves, after all, that's what parties are for lol!

As Mart said above, keep it simple. We don't offer nibbles they tend to distract people we find some silly games help to break the ice & be prepared to start the fun, that's often the tricky bit X
