Socials are a great way to meet lots of people at once. Usually friendly and a good laugh

Are you sure there is one tonight? Can't see it in the forum

They're a filth fest of debauchery and fuckery

In reality, they're a group of people meeting up at a pub or other social venue.

The larger ones may have private function rooms with music a different raffles etc.

But they're just there for socialising and being too meet fellow fabbers

Not if you're a single male I don't think. From previous posts they do not come across as either welcoming or inclusive. Hopefully people who attend enjoy themselves though

I just looked up their profile, that must be where I'd read it.. it's doesn't say no single males just that select single males have to be Pre registered, they probably heard of the number of single blokes that don't turn up

This is mournful news, Miss P, but I imagine a swinging party can get along without us. It shows the value of singles socials though. Hopefully there'll be more of them.

It makes me think they see single females as playthings for couples, maybe I'm getting cynical in my old age

Sorry you felt ill it's a shame you had to leave. Excluding single males might not be the best decision as some myself included know a lot of females who would accompany us to these events yet we are excluded for being single males but like you say it was packed so it wouldn't have mattered anyway. By the sounds of it it wasn't a swingers meet if there were randoms there?

I had the impression from his previous threads that town and county was hiring a private function room for his event but I must have been mistaken

^I'm not defending this social or its organiser, but what do you mean by a false social?

It occurred, took place, and people attended.

It may not have been to everyone's expectations, but it wasn't "false".

A social organiser is perfectly entitled to set their own rules regarding attendance

Some are singles, some are for verified people only, some are open...

It's pretty much a thankless task to organise these events for the benefit of others.

The amount of grief that organisers get makes you wonder why they do it.

And, yes, the fab stereotype of the single male holds true

They are by far and away the most likely to timewaste and not turn up, and give out abuse

But, by and large, they're a lot of fun, and one of the best ways to introduce yourself to other fabbers

I am assuming he meant the fact it was initially advertised as being held in a private function room but was apparently changed at last minute to a public area??

Yes MissP that's what I was referring to, it does seem misleading ie false

I understood what you meant

I'm sure the organiser offered a reasonable explanation or at least I would hope so

you'll have to ask the organiser of that particular social

I prefer it if all persons attending my social are on fab whether as singles or couples
