Looking to start up on my own, is this something you guys would use? Local area ideally as I've had people wanting me to go miles just for a little job which would cost more in fuel than the actual job.

Yes it would be an excellent idea. People who can fix and mend stuff are getting increasingly scarce.

Cardiff

Friend of ours does this around cardiff, has a few guys working for him now and they pick up on the small jobs that don't quite justify a dedicated plumber/ builder etc to do.

As the guy above said people just don't know how to do things anymore, some of the stuff he's told me people call for; light bulb changing, putting up a washing line, cleaning the filter in a washing machine, the door squeaks. Small stuff he'll only do locally unless there's a group of things they can sort in one visit to make it worthwhile.

Pretty much all of his clients are word of mouth and repeat customers, a mix of the elderly and young office workers that just don't have any practical hand skills. Taking stuff to the skip seems to be a good earner for him too.

Good luck with it
