I have noticed myself when someone tries to start up a social in their area, generally you'll get negative forum responses.. It appears when some people try and give it a go, users of the more known socials (only a small number of) will start meh meh meh'ing about it.. We could do with some good ones in Pembrokeshire.. Maybe not 'so dark' though as that's not everyone's cuppa...

A prime example of this is on a previous thread whereby they wanted to start a 10 pin bowling social.. Some responses were quite shitty..

I do a Sunday lunch one & I've had no issues, it doesn't take any special effort to do a small social & anyone can do it. I didn't notice anything on the 10 pin one & that was a brilliant night, one of the funniest nights I've had in ages X

From what I can gather, he's pissed that for a lot of socials, the organisers want to keep the m/f ratio as even as possible. Y'know, instead of having 3 women and 48 dudes turning up hoping for a bonk

Its not hard to figure out guys 'n' gals. (Green arrow can help lol).

The OP has applied to go to a social in an area.

There are two socials being organised in that area.

Sounds like the organiser of one social has seen the OP put his name down for the other one, and got all "bent out of shape" about it, and messaged the OP.

Just call me Sherlock lol!

Possibly trying to only have certain people attend ie age, looks, those with a vagina and or breasts

It's the same as a house party when you were younger, you get into some and not others

Life's short, no body' has died just move on and find a social you get a yes to

I get the house party bit & I don't attend some for that very reason, but it shouldn't apply to socials. Most that arrange them like to have a mix of people. I'm guessing there's a little spat going on down West & tbh it needs to stay down there & off the forum. The socials down this way are going really well atm & we don't want to spoil that.

Couldn't agree more re not spoiling any especially if they are going well

As you say it could well be a personal spat

Not been to a social yet, do they control numbers so you don't get 20 men 1 couple and 1 single woman ?

I wouldn't worry about the "M/F/MF" ratio, most "single" guys who put their names down don't turn up... they cant get their wives to let them out for the evening lol!

What the OP is saying is that a certain social organiser has told him that he isn't welcome at said social if he attends another run in same area but by different person. NOBODY should have to feel they have to choose between them especially as it's only a social event.

Either way I can't see the problem.. I arranged one in a local town a few years back, alright, it was slow to begin with and, initially, only around 8 people showed (2 MF CPL, 1 F and 5 M), it's just a shame we couldn't continue using the venue as management changed hands and shortly after I left the site for the first time (one of many ) everyone kind of gave up and went their own separate ways..

Anywho, Pembrokeshire needs a good couple of socials, all different so people can pick and choose what one(s) they would like to attend.. Keep it up, Warren, you'll get people who show!

Mostly because the organiser is a control freak. The reason I started a Caerphilly social was for unverified users to get that much need verification in order to allow them to the weekend socials. I have NEVER told anyone they could not attend if they were also going to a different one run by someone I may not like.

"the bowling social is just a good laugh x"

Thanks ... Always good to know people enjoy themselves..

As an organiser of socials it takes a bit of work to get the right balance of people...

My socials are always open to all but I do try and make sure I get a 50/50 gender split.

Ten Pin Bowling socials are fun but by their nature are numbers limited and also numbers and payment needs to be confirmed and paid in advance to guarantee a booking which I do willingly.

What is annoying is guys (and it is predominantly guys) who confirm and then do a "no show". It's just lack of manners.

I tend to under book the numbers but also over invite as I know that for every six guys invited only four will bother to turn up...

Anyway that's my rant for the year over..

To everyone who attends my future socials have a great time and enjoy yourselves....

.

The Sunday lunch social is the same, I started it because I was having lunch alone most Sundays & I knew others were as well. It's a great way for those with no veris to get started & I've no interest in other socials people attend or who puts them on, that's not my concern & luckily most other organisers are like us, I think you've got caught up in a particular dispute there Warren, best left to it because socials run by people like that tend to fail X
