Thinking of opening a similar place to greenhouse/chams around Abergavenny/Hereford.. be a similar outfit to chams as in sauna n all in day for gays/bi and then swingers on Wednesdays. Fridays and Saturdays. What's your thoughts and who would be interested? I go to chams and love it and that's why I'm thinking of a place were I am to not Tread on toes.

The problem you're going to encounter is the one of travel to your location.

Knowing what a b":#/#d it is to travel up and down Wales, would you get many people driving to "rural" Wales of an evening ?

Surely you'd be better off keeping to the M4 corridor ?

Knowing what a b":#/#d it is to travel up and down Wales, would you get many people driving to "rural" Wales of an evening ?

Surely you'd be better off keeping to the M4 corridor ?

A very nice idea but my thoughts to would be about the location.

The best club I ever went to was the Bath House in Bath and that still shut down. I wish someone would re-open it.

I have to agree, Abergavenny/Hereford might be a but to rural. Perhaps somewhere slightly more central?

I would be very supportive of a new club opening in Wales, however, but its important to get the logistics right!

Truth is, a good club is worth travelling for, we've been to Chams in Darlos, and Angels in Melksham, and others make regular trips to Xtasia etc.

If you believe that you can get the footfall during the day to make it pay, then opening it up to swingers a few nights a week has got to be worth a punt, and so long as car parking is close, with hotels near too, I don't think distance would be an issue if the club is worth it, and let's face it, Abergavenny is hardly outer Mongolia lol

Personally I'd come West probably bridgend or swansea considering the costings involved with setting up footfall is going to be your driver

Angel's is good, but that's the furthest I like to go.

I agree with you, and the others, that people will travel, but it is the best part of an hour to that area from Cardiff

And your catchment is surely better elsewhere for a new establishment, to get that regular footfall through the door

You're looking for frequent fabbers, and not occasional visitors

People will travel any distance if the clubs good so don't let the negative contributors put you off.

After all people have been traveling down from Scotland every weekend to clubs in the north of England and beyond due to the lack of Scottish venues.

And we've just flown to Gran Canaria to visit clubs there lol, so I think traveling through Wales will be easy , good luck with your venture.

Where it is doesn't matter.

We'll managed and maintained will get customers in. Some people will have to travel wherever it is.

Your biggest....no, massive problem is planning or licence application.

Good luck with your venture I hope it goes a head a new venue would be nice to go to.

As above has said. People will travel. You can't get anymore rural than Melksham and they're a stuffy community yet they have Angel's so go for it. Make the enquires to see if you'll get anywhere with it. Keep us posted.

Wales has no proper swinging clubs. Both Pennant and Chams are primarily gay or bi. We need one or two as demand would be there.

Any club, new or already established, needs the support of its patrons, and Chams Newport was open on Friday and Saturday nights, but felt that there wasn't the support to validate being available to swingers on both nights.

You have probably selected the best Geographical area already and I would think that Hereford itself would be well placed to take advantage of the surrounding counties,but unfortunately the set up costs would be prohibitive unless you have a licenced premises already that allows for adult entertainment as provided under the 2003 licencing act.

Chams in Newport was open to all on a Friday and Saturday night when I first started going there.

Some couples moaned about single guys so they changed it to couples and single fems only on the Saturday night.

The change wasnt very successful and thats why the night was lost. If theyd kept it that single guys could go too I think it could well be still running today. (Certain customers arent always right).

I think Cardiff would be the best place for a club

If you do open one anywhere treat the single guys nicely and dont charge them so much more than everyone else to attend and become members.

I went to Chams for 5-6 years as a couple and think it was once or twice in all that time we were bothered by single guys. You just tell them to politely fuck off

Hereford for me would be through FOD, Ross, then Hereford, it's not a great trip. Aber i'd go M4, A449, then aber, that's a much better trip.

Bristol or Cardiff would be great places to open a decent club. There big cities, they already have sex shops and massage parlours so I don't think getting a licence would be such a big problem as smaller towns, they've got the populations to get enough customers.

In fact if you bought 'the office' in Bristol and did it up i'm sure people would go back to it. Chams in Newport is good, but Bristol is crying out for better.

lol I am. in west wales and there's lots of action going on. there is a social wednesday evening. Haverfordwest area then a play night Thursday it is full I am the only person from west wales all the others are from Carmarthen Swansea. The west wales people do not want to meet local strange people most this end are fakes. Shame as it's a good area where I live there are at least 15 swingers within a half mile radius. I know most of them they would rather travel to Swansea than to go to a local social or club. Oh yes there is one
