A48 speed camera or warning sign?

Bridgend

So I was hoping someone could help me, I was overtaking on a hill on a dual today and as I reached the top a big sign flashed up saying slow with a 40mph on it.

Pretty sure I was doing over that!

So my question is are those signs speed cameras or just warning signs?

(It's the new one on the a48 heading back to bridgend from culverhouss cross)

Primarily they act as a traffic calming system but some have cameras incorporated so your guess is as good as mine but fingers crossed that you will be ok

Just a warning. Though there might also be a camera nearby, did you see a speed camera sign at all?

Also this could be a prelude to installing a camera if they find too many people are speeding...

There are speed camera markings on the m4 gantry's through Newport but only half of them have cameras

So it's a guessing game
