"I think age makes it harder in a way (and I'm a good bit older). It's not that I don't want a "proper" relationship, but I find I over-think things as I get older. Often to the point of driving me mad. I guess I'm scared of failure too - unraveling a relationship seems harder at this point. I see women friends and wonder endlessly about the extent of my feelings for them e.g. one I think is beautiful, but who I somehow can't imagine being with. That triggers endless questions "why not?", "what's the matter with you?", "maybe you like X more?". Then my head explodes! I think it'd take someone walking into my life who totally blows me away to resolve it. I reckon that could change things for a few other Fabbers who think it's no longer for them too. " I don't think that's an age thing I think it's the length of time you've been single. The longer you're single the harder it is to find what suits and ticks all the boxes

"I'm in my early 40s now, been single over 5 years with two kids at home (19&11) No one is going to take all that on in a vanilla relationship!!! It's going to take someone really special to do that!" I think most guys would expect a female over 40 to have kids etc - just as you'd expect a guy over 40 to have kids and baggage.

"I couldn't think of anything worse than another relationship! I have a few select regulars, and that suits me fine. Commitment is definitely not for me. " Same at the min (well, for a good while yet to come too). I have way too much fun with my 'buddies' and doubt I'd find a one size fits all that'll make me want something vanilla

"I wondered this myself hunni. I've been happy single for a while now but I miss cwtches and some of the romantic stuff" This for me too - it's not always about the sex for me, sometimes it's just a bit of male company and banter....x

" I think most guys would expect a female over 40 to have kids etc - just as you'd expect a guy over 40 to have kids and baggage." I am the exception - I am in my 40's and have no children or baggage - a great catch if you speak to my friends - a very fussy bitch, if you talk to me though! X
