If you do go to Pembrey, whether beach or on the grounds, look out for the wild parsnip plants. They're all over the place, look like a regular plant with yellow flowers, but cause a nasty rash with blisters on contact.

I know, it happened to me in June, got what looked like a chemical burn on my leg, thought it was hog. Then in July, it happened again, on my leg and shoulder. I managed to identify the plant this time and now Pembrey have a notice on their Facebook page. The sap on the skin reacts with sunlight to cause these burns. Thankfully, whilst I was naked, I didn't make contact with any of my privates, but it could be bad if it had touched any other place.

Google for wild parsnip and you'll see what I mean. It's easily avoidable when you know about it.

We've just returned from camping at Pembrey . Been several times but always with the kids so never had the chance to venture to the nude end of beach.

It's a nice site though unfortunately the cafe is closed at present which is annoying. Signs up about wild parsnip. You do need to book but it can be done via e-mail. Also if you plan to venture off site you need to pay £20 for swipe card (cash) which is returned when you leave.

Happy camping x
