Just been conned :(

So I'm in Cardiff waiting for hubby when I was approached by a women saying that she was homeless and hungry and if I wouldn't mind buying her a crepe as we were outside the place. Didn't want to say no just incase she was genuine so went inside with her to buy her one. She then asks the server for one with ice cream and fruit and then asked for a drink! I was speechless but didn't like to say anything because I can't say no her boyfriend came in then with a load of bags so I payed quickly and said goodbye. Feel a bit of a sap now I very angry with myself. Apparently it goes on a lot. Oh well lesson learnt!

already paid by then and was to embarrassed to make a fuss. My hubby give me a row on the phone lol xxx

Yes, sorry about that Beth, I really fancied a crepe but didn't want to go over budget after all that shopping, so I bullied the wife into begging one for me. Seriously though, never be feel bad about doing a good deed. Her crepe will be gone in minutes but your kindness will endure forever.

It's refreshing to see such positivity on the forums.

You live an learn next time some cheeky bint asks for some free food buy one tare it in half and say there you go love, if she was in need she'd gladly accept and thank you.

Or tell her to do one if they cheeky enough to ask a complete stranger she won't mind a no

I wouldn't be too hard on yourself.

In every city and town there's people wrestling with comflicting thoughts when passing homeless people.

You took a very good approach in buying food/drink, it just didn't work out. I hate creating a "fuss" too, so understand why you didn't act as you did too.

This person proved to be a pain, but it was still a nice act of kindness and lots of folks in need (and some really are in need) would thank you for it.

Fairplay, that's a really nice thing you did. I struggle to say no too. End up paying out to all sorts of charities because of the people with clipboards.Really fancy a crepe now though!
