Did anyone else see this last night on ITV?

New series about the start of Ann Summers parties, set in the 80's.

Was this the start of women becoming more sexually empowered? Or was it before?

Didn't women begin to be sexually empowered long before? Some say the suffragette era & others with the advent of the contraceptive pill. I doubt it was as late as the 80's, I know I was actively swinging before that
