Why Lie About Your Age?

It's becoming more and more apparent that couples (usually the woman) are lieing about how old they are. Now some can get away with the off year here and there but when they are saying they are 10 years younger than they actually are it's a joke.

Your only fooling yourself at the end of the day.

well i aint really 55 i am really 18 ah i wish, nah i dont would like to be in my 30s again but glad i got to 55 after a brilliant life. But as for fibbing about ages, men lie as well as females, its a vanity thing I think. In my head I am 35 but as soon as I look in the mirror I think Oh shite i am really 55 he he

I know two men on here that put 40 on thier profiles but they're both 47!! The men are worse than the women!!! lol

Just regret not knocking 7 years off my age, bit late now though! hehe

I have seen a slight variation - I knew a guy on here who is my age but had added a year to get into the 35+ age range a lot of couples and ladies use. Idiot removed himself months back, but food for thought!

i agree with hotlips on this ive never lied bout age or even consider it but its def a bloke thing ,makes it worse when they say 47 instead 52 but look 55 ,i love being my age some say coz i act like a 21yr old but thats me and il never change

i remember quite a few years ago I went to an AOL bash nowt to do with swinging but this thread reminded me, I couldnt recognise anyone at the party because all their pics were about 20 years old was every so funny trying to work out who was who ha ha

We are about 15 mins outa Pontypridd and we do go to Crawley in west sussex 2-3 times a year so get in touch !!

well im 35 and i look 44 but u only as young as the person u feeling so that makes me 23 yrs young ha ha

Looks like it's a lot more common than we thought. At the end of the day if your attracted to someone it don't matter what age they are I suppose. But if you have to lie to get some fun then it's a poor poor show

We do think its sad that ppl feel that they gt2 fib bout they age coz if they are lieying bout somthing as simple and should be as honest as they age then it beggs the though at what else they are telling fibbs about ,who knos they could be multiple rapists or alot wrs murderers or pedophiles ,just a though but the possibilities are endless wi fibbers i kno this may sound a tad extreme but we live in an extreme world with extreme individuals ,do u know who u are letting shag your wife??????

Each to their own i know a few who have knocked a few years off their age ive got no idea why they do it im guessing if they tell ppl their real age then maybe they wouldnt get meets?maybe its cause they feel they look younger for their ages so lie about it who knows but who realy cares good luck to them .

Were are all liars, it is taught as we grow up. We learn from our parents, peers and life experiences. We learn that telling the truth can warrant negative responses so an untruth gives us the chance to mitigate the repercussions of that response.

If a child breaks something and you catch them, then ask if they did it the likely outcome is, they will lie because of the negative reaction from the parents or said peer group.

So if we address the post why do you think these people lie about their age?

Is it because they are less likely to attain the age group they are attracted to?

Are they self concious or lacking confidence? "being put down by a partner or ex partner"

Are they simply attracted to an individual and wish to contact them afraid of rejection?

I can't answer nor wish to answer these questions.

However the outcome is, if they lie and get found out at least they have gotten to meet the person, either physically or pictorially.

So as stated above there is incessant no reason for them not to lie.

We are 41 & 36 and still get cpls in there late teens/early 20's mailing us asking to meet up so it shows age is irrelevant xx

oi sod off you lot....ive got 46 down as my age, i was once....ok so im 54!!! who feck cares!!!!! why u so ageist anyway...surely youre only as old as the length of time you live.....if you died at 40 youd be old at 39....so ive got longevity on my side...maddness too...but its age we're discussing now...im 54 and ill live till im 90..so really im only 30 cos most people are gonnas by 60!!! savvy!!! right cmon all ya firty year olds ill give you a run for ur money eh????? lol
