Hunting...

(this is a non sexual post)

Anyone in Wales like myself, then and enjoy a slow cooked rabbit stew or a tasty game pie? Have you ever tried one, and if so, what did you think?!

I myself am a pretty hardcore rabbit and game hunter and enjoy nothing more than grabbing my air rifle with a few mates, going on our mate's permitted farm and having a good hunt!

It helps the farmer, but also helps the freezer from being full of overly priced supermarket meat!

So, pheasant or rabbit pie with a cold one or not??

If you're ever in the Pembrokeshire / Pembroke Dock area, come give me a shout! Currently have 3 private land permissions and a handful of air rifles.. I either go solo or with my buddy.. We mainly do night shoots so have NV scopes.. Looking to get a thermal imaging scope now ... As they say, do it proper!

And tbh, you can't beat a good home made rabbit pasty or stew after a good night's hunt!

Yes,but I prefer partridge.A bit difficult to kill with an air rifle though. I find 28grams of no 6 shot works every time

Nobody is asking or forcing you to do it, there are plenty of people who do like the whole aspect of hunting.

My Maltese relatives breed rabbits solely for the purpose of eating. When I went to pick up a cute baby bunny as a dewy-eyed 16 year old, my cousin dived in to save me from being attacked by the very angry doe. They're wild, not like our domesticated rabbits.

I am against hunting though. My Maltese uncles shoot rare birds of prey as they migrate and catch song birds in nets and using lime painted on twigs. It's cruel and should be banned

There is a lot of things I would like to try but haven't including all of the above mentioned.

As long as there isn't a cooked pineapple in sight, cooked pineapple is just wrong lol.

If we're talking "hunting" when can we start on the farmers too?

Mmmm..wild duck! Yummy! love that slow cooked as well! So good to see a few people that like a good game hunt! Some people just don't realise how tasty the catches can be, and how free it can be! I've just bought some more c02 cannisters over the weekend so am due more bunny hunting! Can't wait! More pasties!

I wasn't suggesting anyone was asking or forcing me to like hunting ..neither was I suggesting there aren't people who enjoy it ..I merely stated I'm not a fan of hunting x

The reality is that dead animals that we eat are not not just something in a piece of plastic on a supermarket shelf. They all had to die for our consumption.

I personally see nothing wrong with hunting for food. It's a basic instinct. And in my opinion much less stressful on the animal than marching them through an abattoir where they can smell death as soon as they walk through the door.

I'm a firm believer, that if you're not prepared to see the animal you eat die, then maybe you should consider vegetarianism.

one shot and it's all over, no suffering.. Unlike slaughter houses, where a lamb is hung upside down by its feet, the throat is cut and they're left to "Bleed out", cows usually receive a high powered bolt to the head.. Yup.. I'll take my more humane one shot lol! x they don't even see or hear it coming.. Flick your light switch off.. It's that quick..

think some people think their meat is already packaged in a field and a farmer just goes out every morning with a carrier bag and then sends it to the supermarket.. Bar code and all, like...

when I suggested to breed rabbits for food I was slammed as a savage??? Apparently it's not the done thing to "bunnies" in this country. Wat are they for then??? Nothing like fresh meet. I hate the idea of meat hanging for 28 whole days to mature really tough to chew. Hubby just shakes his head and calls me cruel lol.

I hunt, stalk and shoot, used to work as a gamekeeper and farmer and still very active.

Would be lovely to find someone also into the same things as me to buddy up and do our hobbie togther and possibly add a little spice to the day. Being out in the fresh air always seems to make me frisky
