Like with anything, if you send it to someone, they can do what they like with it.

This app uses phone numbers. But kik uses usernames. So depends if you want to give out your number or not

I'd personally stick with kik as you don't have to share any personal information with anyone you don't want to x

Just be aware as with any app and information giving a skilled searcher can find out a lot about you from various things and can sometimes track you down to a home address from information given freely.

Example

Fab profile says age = 33

Fab profile says kik Addy = fred1

Fab profile says area = chepstow

Kik profile says first name = fred

Lol profile says last name = Smith

A skilled searcher can use that info to find further info about you. I have warned several ladies about this. Never use your real name on kik or fab if you expect an amount of privacy.

Of course...of you don't care... That's your choice

If you value your privacy then use kik, adding phone numbers will eventually add into yours and thier Facebook. but then if you value your privacy you wouldn't have Facebook

Personally l only use kik for fab. I wont give out my number to anyone. For me that works....l think giving out too much personal info on fab is scary. But thats just me

You could also use snapchat, it deletes your messages and pictures automatically and tells you if someone screenshots.

another one to use is wicker it destroys pics vids after a certain time and your pics vids can't be copied

+1 for Kik. Anonymous as you want it to be, doesn't involve people having your phone number (so no 2am unwanted d*unken incoming booty calls), and is a hugely popular platform, so the likelihood of whoever you want to chat to having it is pretty high. x

Also, don't share photos that you've also put out there on the Internet (Facebook profile pic, holiday snaps...).

We had some interest from a woman on our profile the other day so we put her public pics through Google image search to check if they were fake or not. Turns out she'd used one on both her Facebook and Twitter, giving anyone on fab her real identity.

Threema is even better than kik. It has a high encryption system unique only between the the who are chatting. Hense a third party cannot retrieve ur information with out their phone and password to open Threema too. All info is scrambled when sent and only the receivers phone can unscramble it. ( scrabbled in cyber and probably not traceable).

You can also like snapchat have message deleted....However beware....though it's deleted from their phone or yours it is still in cyber and can be collected as with KIK, small or any other form of unencrypted material.

KIK however one of the best commonly used option as far as keeping personal ID safe from the receiver.

Whatsapp is owned by Facebook. ...figure!

Just on another note which is relevant. ...

It's used now by a few but will become a common thing in future for interview selection.... much of our cyber activity will be easily accessible as freedom of speach proponents shout louder and sense time material becomes open domain...New software is being developed specifically to find info about people for preselection on potential employment.... something our kids need to be very aware and careful about if they value a good career.
