Swinging night at bar in Bridgend

Hey guys, a mate of mine owns a bar in Bridgend and I was chatting to him about maybe putting on a swingers night once a month to start off and maybe once a week if it takes off It could be good for people who find other venues alittle far away!

It could be somewhere quiet, safe and fun to all get together and have social meets, a good laugh and some drinks! No charge to get in and maybe some drinks offers aswell!

Is there anything anyone would look for in an event/night like this? Any specific day? Certain music? Theme nights? Fancy dress? Any ideas then let me know!

I'll take everything anyone says and pass it on to him. If you feel it'd be a waste of time then dont be scared to say! But it could be a chance to have a close, quiet venue with a night you can have a say in

Of course guys! Everyone will be invited to the nights if it gets up and running If you know anyone who'd be interested, get them to comment! If there's enough interest he's more than happy to sort it.

I'm torn between private (fab swingers only) night or a more open night where we can all have socials etc any suggestions welcome!

It wouldnt be about taking away any socials or trying to rival them just a bar with a night aimed at swingers any ideas about what could make them fun are appreciated!

Glad to hear that hun, just don't understand why someone would do this when there is an established one in the area. Highly doubtful they would get enough people to make it a (financially) viable monthly thing, plus it detracts from the social as well.

Thanks guys! If there were drinks offers on that night, any particular ones people prefer?? I'm a whiskey man but if everyone else prefers something (cider/cocktails/wine) let me know and I'll put it to him

Still waiting back on the hotels guys, but even if we dont end up putting on a night, if all you saucy people are going it might well end up becoming my local haha

He said Travel Lodges are a 10 minute drive and the Wyndham is within a 5 minute walk

I'll ask about live bands! itd be cool to get some good cover bands in and cocktails haha!

No playing, more of a venue for people to meet up, have a drink, listen to music and have a laugh

He said there is accomodation 5 minutes away or travel lodges 10 mins if people dont want to drive or cant keep their hands off each other!

If you have any ideas on how to make it more than 'just another social' feel free to say choice of music (live,requests,themed nights) certain cheaper drinks and offers, guestlist or just casual come and go as you please, whether youd want the bar closed for a private night or not etc

Its more that I found another venue with lovely owners willing to be really accommodating and open to suggestion from people on what theyd look for plus anyone could put organise their own oneonone socials there whenever they wanted, or bigger ones on one specific night

I only suggested the idea of it to him, it's up to you guys if you think its worth doing!

Yeah any preference on nights would be good too guys! ive seen alot of socials on in Neath but theyre always in the day in the week so I can never go! I only get Sundays off work and Lady is on shifts so its finding ones that we can get to! We'd love to meet more of you lovely people!

I'm meeting up with him next week so I can let him know what everyones said and suggested! I'll see if he wants to put a few nights on and see how it goes!

There would be no playing at the venue, I imagine if anything did happen the people responsible would be removed by security and the nights may not carry on, so it'd ruin it for everyone. Especially when there's a hotel 5 minutes round the corner!

Wednesday nights hes thinking for a private closed bar night for swingers, its the middle of the week but the bar is open as normal over the weekends. Would people be able to make that?

Deals on drinks, DJ taking requests etc plus the hotel is only a minute walk away

Itd probably be a guestlist based night so if its going ahead, Id ask some swingers with a bit more experience with putting events on for some help doing it!

Theres also choice of Wednesday nights or Sundays! whichever people would find easiest to get to x

I think we'd start out with a DJ at first just so theres something for everyone plus its easy enough to request everyones favourite songs too!

But if all goes well, we could try a few different nights in there (live rock night, fancy dress etc)

Sunday it'll probaby be then guys! I had a good chat with him about it yesterday and he seems up for it! I saw some pictures of inside and it looks lovely aswell

Maybe starting less frequently (monthly) and becoming more often if the numbers are there

I'll see about organising a trial run before Christmas and we can see how it goes! Anyone interested in helping, just drop us a message!

I'd definitely be up for this.

I think it should be kept to Fab users and anyone they invite rather than making it completely open. As for music/theme, perhaps change it each month? There's a great swingers club in Liverpool I used to go to that does a different theme each month so that if you don't like the music/costume, just go next time.

But yes, I'll keep an eye out for this.

Well the owner is definitely up for it and based on what everyones asked for, it'd most likely be a closed night on a Sunday for us (We'd have the whole bar to ourselves) with a DJ (taking requests, maybe looking to do certain themed nights if it took off and maybe live bands at some point) offers on drinks etc too Any more suggestions are still welcome!

It's really just a case of when to start and numbers of people wanting to go now, so I'll have a chat and let you all know!

Still in the process of gathering info on the safest and best way of hosting a social, in all fairness we have had some very good advice from some lovely people on here hopefully update you soon, theres alot going on christmas period with work and such so itll probably be after christmas when it calms down hope this helps!

To be honest guys, we've had so many negative messages since we suggested this that we think we're going to give it a miss. We only wanted to let people know about cool, quiet, friendly venue that people could've organised socials at but we've definitely been put off doing anything ourselves x
