We the welsh room have been accused of being very cliquey. I dont think we are at all. Yes few drama kings and queens as we all get in life ha ha (only joking) and a lot of ppl know each other, but come on you lot we aint cliquey at all, we all friendly. Always keep a welcome in the hillside for strangers, if not in the bed lol

totally agree with you kitten, wales room is probably the most friendliest on this site if not all sites.

Shouldnt need to be cliquey at all, we love to talk and meet all and welcome anyone new as we were all new once!

I think I am friendly I only bite when asked and I will talk to anyone whether they want me to or not!!!! I may take the mick out of people but just means i like them and always try to make newbies welcome and if they are what i am looking for break them in gentley lol xxx

i gotta be honest i dont always see when ppl come into the room but when someone says hi I do say hi back, its when ppl come in room and dont speak then obviously if no chat coming up in room not all of us know who comes in i think xxx

From personal experience i would like to say that the 'South Wales Taffia' are a mad, bad and dangerous bunch in Welsh chat.....i think i'm going to die laughing at your antics!

From the off you guys made a little Country boy like me so welcome! There are some great characters in there. It's like an episode of 'Pobol y cwm' in Welsh chat sometimes. I even witnessed a peasant revolt once...... (winks at Sophie.....!)

For those of you who feel a bit left out my advice is to join in the chat. They won't bite..... not on a first date anyway!

Good morning and greetings from Ireland.

A similar thread to this was started in the Ireland forum only a few days ago.

Sometime I think fellow users are only to throw in the term 'clique' purely because they don't get as much attention in the 'Chatroom' or 'Forums' as others appear to get and they feel a tad left out!

You'll always get users that are prominant in both and that chat often who are then deemed by others as 'Cliquey'. I say for those that feel left out, get more involved you'll soon see you then become part of the 'clique' if infact it exists!

I've always been welcomed in your threads.

My two pennies.

as a regular in the wales chat room i can honestly say that i don't think its cliquey at all.

in my experience anybody that comes in and says hi always gets acknowledged and nobody that joins in a conversation is ever ignored. in fact i have been witness on a few occasions to somebody say 'hi i'm new here' and the response they get is always great!

i always find too that there are usually a few 'non welsh' in the the wales room, alot of whom are regulars, that in itself must mean that we are a friendly lot!

No way is the welshroon cliquey, we've been using it since we joined fab, and its responsible for me meeting my fiance Nicci. Its the warmest of all the rooms, i've always had a laugh and made some of the best friends i could ever wish for. As well as some of the sexiest experiances. As kitt says there are always those who dont get on and annoy you but thats life. You get what you put in, and i have repeatedly said If you just sit there and mope, and not join in then no one talks to you. Same as the socials, you sit there with a face like a wet weekend and no one talks to you, in the chat you say nothing or have an attitude permanently set on moan and no one talks to you. Simples. Well i'll put my soap box away. Looking forward to having a laugh in the room today and then at the cardiff social at the weekend cheers peeps paul and Nicci xxxxxxxxxx

However, its by no means an exclusive clique, I have seen people from all over pop up in there, and receive a warm welcome.

We've had different experiences in the chat room.... a few hysterically funny conversations with some wickedly funny peeps but also a few times where we've been ignored, even when we've replied to something in someones conversation in an attempt to join in the fun.... I guess it depends on who's there as some don't like to be interrupted and seem to forget that everyone can see their conversation! lol! Ah well, won't stop us trying and still talking to the lovely people on there!

Don't know about a clique - it all depends upon what you define as a clique.

But if you'd asked if the Wales room is clannish I'd have said yes, but so is the Scots and Irish rooms and I don't see any problem with that.

Having said that though, Ive never had anyone in the irish or Scots room tell me that I shouldn't moderate their room because I'm English .....

we always make ppl welcome but also lots dont say anything then ppl dont know they are around cos ppl do look at room as it does go so quick so when ppl do come in say hi then ppl will get a response

hi guys relatively newish to fab, and when we first started going on chat we were ignored or so i thought but you must try and get talking once you start chatting you get to recognise usernames and they recognise yours.

There are 'cliques' most defo and some are more friendlier than others. There are some groups that will not engage a convo with you but balls to them!

I pop into chat and see whos on if certain ppl are on i pop back out cause you know u wont be spoken to.

When there is loads on chat it can b hard to join in cause as we all know the welsh cant stop talking lol But we cant be that bad we have the most users out of all the rooms. I tend to say hi to most ppl but when loads are on u just dont notice everyone popping in and out so if i have ever ignored or not chatted ooops sorry it wasnt meant

I don't know about cliques but we all like and prefer different things and personalities so i personally (mike) don't find it like that at all...i just barge into conversations cause havoc n mahem then sit quietly, but that's just my personality (cause murder in an empty house kes says) but always in the back of my mind is this!!!

IT'S A BIT OF FUN NOT A WAY OF LIFE!!!! chillout and enjoy it for what it is.

We as a cpl have met some really great people on here and a few we want to meet up with soon, but as for cliques, they only become one if you allow it, just coz a isn't speaking to b, doesn't mean you don't have to! andi if it annoys you that much there's a huge range of buttons you can press like delete profile suspend, or block!!!

Have fun have a laugh...but this is sooo not real life!!!!

first time we went in the chat, we thought there was yes, BUT we were wrong, its simply the fact the conversation goes so quickly, that when you join with your hello, its easily missed as no one is looking for your chat i guess.

we have been in several times now, and always get a warm welcome, from people we know and from those we have not met, so we would say its a not clciky and is very friendly, but you only get from it, what you put in too. dont say hi, then expect a conversation to start. you have to treat it as you would a real conversation, and actually talk to others too.

it can be a great place to lift your spirits. my father died 3 weeks ago, and thats when we started going on more than before, and without telling people our loss, we were busy chatting, and it took the pain away for a little while. it may sound stupid, but it helped me no ends, and for that i cant repay anyone enough.

stick with it and put in to it, and the rewards are sweet

p.s.how gay do i sound? lol

Definition of clique: is an exclusive group of people who share interests, views, purposes, patterns of behaviour, or ethnicity.

I can’t believe that this thread has gone past the 50 mark. It not only makes the Welsh room look pathetic it also brings a self fore-filling prophecy where by members will leave and are leaving.

As there are several posts from other users that do not frequent the welsh room but visit the forums it shows topics like these have a knock on effect for other rooms.

I totally agree with the comment..some like to back stab..some like to tell tall tales comment. I would like to add some people like to openly humiliate behind your back then act as if nothing has happened. It is these people that people should be excluded, but then that would make a clique Oh the irony!

So in reality what we are talking about is the social aspect of the scene. As in life if someone is inept and lacking in social skills, does not contribute to conversations or tries to disrupt and influence an established society by trying to raise their status by the means of “back stabbing”, lies (tall tales) openly ridiculing someone via the forums or chat rooms, and actively excludes themselves from conversations. What do you expect?

I personally couldn’t give a fuck that it is perceived there may or may not be a clique, I pity the people who feel they are excluded because they have limited social skills or lack the confidence to engage in conversations

jesus im in here where did me life go lol. i hail round manc yet go in wales room most as i find them the friendliest nicest room o i mods are good to as they dont ban u just cos they feel like it ..give sum 1 a lil power an that ...anyway ive bn there.. where no 1 lets on when i 1st joined all ill say is bah humbug get a grip and go and eat some worms or somert people not letting on is not the end of the world now is it. A lot of people in wales are really good friends due to meeting at socials and parties the same i suspect as other rooms if anthing id say the general room is the most cliquey though personally i can live with it the virtues of solitary confinement.. anyway ive just bn in canada and no one let on so scuse me whilst i grab me hankie and go and have a quick cry lol ok im gonna go get a grip and give meself a good talking 2 lol

Oh I concur with the comment Mandy, it could have been them pesky internet elf’s that have stuck again with their interweb magic. Then again it could have been that in a moment madness or genius (I’ll air on the side of caution and say genius) I wrote something meaningful and profound thus in order to save other users from engaging in a stimulating discussion the post was squashed in a similar fashion to the Ribena berrys thinking they are off to dive into a purple swimming pool only to find out they are a sacrifice for our drinking pleasure. Oh we so aint hard to get into (and any comments of PING PONG will so be slapped lol) but takes alot of strength in your arms to get out of guys ... hmmmmmmm !!

Most of us do know each other because we go to the Social Nights (held in Swansea and Cardiff) where we all meet up, get pished and have a laugh, sometimes try and stand up long enough to dance, and then if you are very lucky get groped n snogged ... oh hell no thats me doing the groping and the snogging .. ermmm moving on ....

so if you would like to get to know all of us better come along to a Social - they are always up in the Forum and u just put your names down ... I always get refused but there again I just gatecrash em anyways !! ... mainly cus its fun being MAN-handled when they realise i gatecrashed hehe !!

Seriously though ... and no comments I CAN BE SERIOUS ... they are the best places to meet socially and make new friends.

Oh and btw I live in Swansea but am sooooo English !! Hence I give as good as I get (and am so not talking about Head there before anyone says somert) .. it makes it even more fun lol.

as put in previous post to this.....we all like different things/people/personalities, and as mand said once the off button is hit on pc....real life resumes....this is not a way of life it's a little tiny part of it, we haven't played for many months due to circumstances, but we still keep in touch with friends, and if that makes me cliquey because i like to talk to people who make us laugh n chill out then i'll plead guilty as charged...we can't all like everyone so if someone snubs us or ignores us then are we really that shallow that we get bent outta shape over it ....no it's just a bit of fun !

Know what I dont give a damn. I just lurve reading Profs' replies and Im going to make it my business to tease out Profs responses, because folks what a writer he is too, an art that is slowly dying in favour of this cyberspace dialogue of omgs and pmsl!! half of which I dont understand and fill in the gaps myself. Ive only just realised that lol does not mean lots of love. I still prefer my version. I did like MrsDiamonds response!!! that lady is quite up my street, Prof is just around the corner Im afraid! Quite possibly round the bend too. Mind there was a time I used to write, a lot, and once upon a time it made sense however, nothing makes sense any more, furthermore Im not attempting to make sense out of anything as I would fail miserably. In order to maintain and preserve the little dignity I now posess I cannot cope with failure. Ah!! the art of writing, and not a shortened abvreviated word in sight, the resumation of syntax!! see words flooding back. Have we all lost them.

we had a dis agreement with mods in the welsh room, resulting in a single female friend of theres who had nothing to do with it blocking us, the sed mods are still friends of ours as the issue was resovled and put behind us, if thats not clique whats is ?

To be perfectly honest it is beyond my comprehension why someone would want to “hijack” or indeed censor my previous comment then subsequently leave the proceeding posts intact. So therefore logically my conclusion was and still is the post was simply removed for puerile reasons. I could comprehend the reasoning if I had indiscriminately published profanities, profusely and without consequence or disregard. I will simply disregard the removal as repressive. I shall endeavour to project my energy to copulating with the fairer species opposed to worrying about censorship.
