"Personly there are a lot of innocent men in jail wrongfully convicted by the legal system and the pressures of the crown prosecution and police force getting a result. He still pleads innocent and I begin to wonder to be honest. Only him and her knows what went on that night and because he a footballer hes being slated. Nobody would give a toss if he was just a binman would they." The video recording by the two lads outside the window is probably one of the strongest pieces of evidence because the issue was whether or not she had given consent. His conviction suggests that she had given it to the other guy but not him

"If Evans was truely innocent why didn't he appeal against his conviction ? The appeal courts are a total different ball game ! Excuse the pun ! My opinion is, he is guilty, he did rape that woman, two and a half years, what kind of punishment is that ? " I think you need to read up about it properly and not just from snippets, he did appeal which was rejected as there was no new evidence,he couldn't appeal again until his release and since then a lot of evidence has since surfaced that is pretty damning to the girl in question. Plus the only evidence that sexual activity took place was the admission of the two men, both stating that it was consensual.

When he appealed there was new evidence and the three judges who were meant to reject or accept it rejected the appeal because all the issues raised and the new evidence would not have made a difference to the decision

"Ok we do know the girl gave consent to one from what she said but not chef Evans however many people know in this wonderful country where we pay footballers silly amounts of money per week was she thinking of a compensation payout from him if she cried rape I don't know if she did give consent or not it's one word against the other but she could have been thinking pound signs after it so I think until the whole situation is finished we should keep an open mind on both parties " She didn't cry rape. The state took the matter into their own hands after she had reported not being able to find her phone or purse

"I don't condone what he dos in any way but he has served his time as set out buy our judicial system. To stop him earning and living by what he did prior would be an injustice. There are many many convicted rapists out there who have committed more violet crimes allowed to live their lives after their release. Ched Evans should be allowed to ply his trade in whatever profession he choses. To say people look up to him is a reason to stop him is wrong. When a child watches him play he wants to score goals like him nothing else. I looked up to George best and idolised him but I don't drink and think the past is the past allow the lad to get in with his life and if he wants to play let him play " You're kidding right? The amount of kids with the latest phones is unreal. All it'd take is for them to google him in the hopes of finding more football stuff online and the rape thing would pop up. If they've already started looking up to him there'll be the few who'll look into it more

"He was convicted.. he served the sentence set by a judge what more is there to say? under the rehabilitation of offenders act the punishment has been done, and it would be illegal to refuse him employment on the basis of a past conviction provided that his employment did not contravene the DBS (disclosure and barring service) requirement. this does not mean that it isnt in poor taste but a job is a job." But as others point out this job involves other young men looking up to him as a rule model, some jobs don't allow an ex sex offender to be employed & that seems reasonable to me. I think you'll find he won't pass any enhanced DBS check x
