can you start it in safe mode?then run a virus check.

press f8 when starting your pc.

I wouldn't put a hammer through it otherwise it'll be hard to work out if it really is a virus or it's just smashed to bits ....

Operating system, version.

can you get to the desktop

and take any advice off here with a pinch of salt

A black screen after logging in could be a number of things, from a virus to a hard drive failure. However i don't think it's something you can solve over the phone. I suggest you take it to a technician.

theres a good pc shop in pencoed,he will look at pc and phone you back to tell you whats wrong and how much-they are reasonably priced too
