Hi all we are currently on holiday in beautiful Pembrokeshire and going home tomorrow

It's a 4 hour plus journey home and with two young kids we thought about maybe stopping somewhere on the way home for a few hours

So anybody got any recommendations on any nice days out on the M4 route ?

We was thinking maybe Cardiff bay ?

Any suggestions would be great

Yeah Heatherton is great and also done folly farm and a lot of places in and around Tenby

So maybe Cardiff bay then as it's 2 hours from where we are now so a good mid point stop

Monmouth

Depending how old your kids are, the Dr Who Experience at Cardiff Bay is great fun for a couple of hours (pricey though, and it's one of those 'exit through the gift shop' type places!)

Neverland

We went to swansea yesterday for the leisure centre. They have indoor soft play and an amazing pool with child friendly slides etc. Soo much fun we stayed for ages x

Why stick to the M4? Head up the A465 and go into the mountains. You could also go and walk up to the waterfalls in the Vale of Neath as they are easy to get to off the A465.

i would pop in st fagans. good parking, easy access, very child friendly, lots of space to run around and have a picnic..... and its free! take a picnic though as the goodies inside are pricey, and its great to have your tea next in such interesting surroundings.

Cardiff bay hands down! Not only do you have the man made beach there is the Dr Who centre and Techni Quest so plenty for kids to do

They've turned part of the Bay into a beach and fairground, which adds to the fun - Helter skelter, crazy golf and other things

There's also the Techniquest to keep the kids busy and Dr Who experience (though £45 for the family)

Otherwise it's mainly eateries

And the views of course

Went to Cardiff Bay and was very impressed

Although I think we might have gone on one of the busiest days of the year what with the beach in the basin opening on that day and the powerboat races in the bay the place was parked solid

But the kids enjoyed it and we all had a very nice meal before our drive home so was a very good day

And WoW the people watching was very nice there

Thanks again for all the advice
