I was sat today waiting for a check up when I seen a poster on the wall in the clinic, the poster says... HIV and Siffilis is on the increase in our area, If you have had sexual contact with anyone from Fabswingers please let nurse know.

This has always worried me. I recently went for a check up and got the all clear but it's so easily caught now.

Most people think a condom stops it but that's not always the case, body fluids have a tendency to get everywhere, plus I have not seen anyone use protection for oral.

Every 8 weeks for me because of the risk from oral, but I do try to limit the risks, condoms for fucking, no bj or cum in mouth for guys I'm not confident about. Only meeting the same few regulars. I do lick quite a bit of pussy though so that's why I go so regularly. Sometimes I just have the throat swab x

there were 2 posters in the waiting room, they didnt have the hospital name on the posters but why would they leave them up if they didnt put them there? will be going to the hospital with my son tuesday so will go and take a pic then

When I've gone 2 the clinic they always as if I go to clubs or share partners..

so I'm guessing when these people were asked they said they are swinger and are on fab...

so as a precaution the clinics are putting notices up as 9 times out of ten after you have slept with that person you are not going 2 see them again..so naming people can be hard lol

Thank you! I have been trying to word that for a few days now. Just coz you get tested every few months doesn't mean anything. You could get the all clear on the Monday and be exposed to it on the Tuesday. Most people get tested and that's great. Most people use condoms and that's great. But how many protect against oral?

I'm a nurse and know it only needs the tiniest opening in the skin that body fluid can get in to and it's game over.

This had really made me think and I'm coming to the conclusion that my health and kids are not worth the little bit of added fun (and it's not even always fun) that this brings to my life.

I think we are socail only from now on

What I find bizarre about b it, is that it's such a crudely written piece of paper.

As someone pointed out, there's no letterhead or authoritative statement, and singles out fabswingers and fabguy ... What about all of the other swinging and adult NSA sites ?

Apart from the nurse's statement about the number of people, there's no evidence to back up or link any of this to Fab.

But nothing has changed here or in the world of swing, the same risks exist today as they did last year & the year before, we all do what we can to mitigate against the risks & play according to our own internal risk assessment process X

The poster doesn't change anything the fact that people play safe or not doesn't guarantee safety !! So we all make the descion as to whether we are swingers or not

The question I would like to know is

I haven't seen the picture but from what you are describing about the amateur way it's written and without being on official headed paper perhaps it could have been make on a home computer and printed out by someone with a grudge against the site?

What's stopping them doing it?

They have only got to sit in the waiting area until it's quiet and then pin them up, I mean with all the posters already up in waiting areas are staff really going to notice an extra one?

I bet there are a lot of bitter people who would love to disrupt this site because they blame it for not being able to get a meet, just take for example the people who inform the press of the organised socials.

The question I would like to know is

If anyone on here were to find out they were infected what would they do as that's a question that no one seems to have asked ?

I would tell all those I'd had sexual contact with & take whatever action was necessary not to pass it on & if that meant no more sexy fun then so be it. I'm not ashamed to admit I caught Chlamydia in my throat 2 years ago, I told my playmates at the time & all but 1 was fine with that, the other left the site never to be seen again. I learnt the hard way & this is now why I am more choosy with my choices & limit the number of partners x

What's stopping them doing it?

They have only got to sit in the waiting area until it's quiet and then pin them up, I mean with all the posters already up in waiting areas are staff really going to notice an extra one?

Offenses against the Person Act 1861 is the course of action the law would likely take IF a person knowingly infected someone with HIV. People have already been prosecuted for it in the UK.

The op has no reason to fabricate or embellish the facts. In fact they should be commended for raising the issue and not chastised.

Many people on here bury their heads in the sand over getting checked. Its a calculated risk no matter when or how often you get tested, the results are only valid until you have sex again.

I'm a nurse and know it only needs the tiniest opening in the skin that body fluid can get in to and it's game over.

the risks are the same today as they were yesterday , and this year to last year vanillas have much more unprotected sex . Just as likely to get it there as well . Just there's people said they were on this site lots who had it probably weren't ! I wonder who the biggest majority would have been ? Xx. Just up to people to protect themselves as they see fit and get checked regularly xx

Well I've been for my routine check ups today at a different RCT clinic. Whilst the said poster was not on display the nurse was aware of my lifestyle and unprompted advised of the increases in our area. This opened up the conversation of posters at clinics to which she confirmed and showed me a very graphic photographic poster which clinics have been emailed and asked to display by the Public Health Dept. IT DID NOT name any lifestyle websites or clubs. I suggested to her that any such correspondence be printed & displayed on Trust headed paper. She was glad of my comments.

A WARNING has been issued over an increase in cases of syphilis.

Public Health Wales is now urging anyone who may have been at risk across Wales to seek testing.

The body say it has "become apparent" that the infection is circulating in the country with 55 cases reported so far this year in south Wales.

There is also evidence that the infection is spreading particularly quickly in people who use dating websites and apps to meet other people for casual sex.

Dr Gwen Lowe, Consultant in Communicable Disease Control for Public Health Wales, said: “We are seeing an increase in cases of syphilis across Wales, the majority being in men who have sex with men.

“However, we also have cases in people who are bisexual and heterosexual, and many of these have become infected after meeting people on dating websites and apps.
