due to lack of support for chams in newport swingers club, it will only be open one night a week now. anyone that has been to chams in newport will know just how good chams is, so please get behind chams and show support .lets keep our local swingers club open befor it's too late

the couples kept asking for single men not to be allowed on saturday, the club agreed hence single men could only attend on a Friday. The club shouldnt close anyway cos its a gayclub the rest of the week anyway maybe everyone bombard the management with mails and lets hope they reconsider and open sat night like it used to be for everyone

Just thought amazing idea for a club it need a big ass hot tub, glory holes , big couple only like the one in chams but bigger,rooms,back yard with car for dogging, dungeon for the kinky stuff, and chilling social bar with dance floor and poles to dance on

We have our opinion about cham's demise.

Spa, if you take people's clothes away you take a certain amount of confidence/ identity. This is a deterrent to new couples and encourages you to stay in cliques.

Focus. Some of the rooms have a serious musky smell to them. It's nothing a little investment in some ventilation wouldn't rectify.

Couples only. A limited number of single guys would really help. Not so many as to drown it but 6 to 10 maybe.

We have been to many clubs in the uk and worked for a year in one of them so would like to think we have some knowledge.

This club should be used more but just need a few tweaks.

The staff are fantastic and the layout is great.

It would be a shame to lose a club in South Wales as there are so few.

There is a decent sized scene here and for one of the very few clubs struggling you have to ask the question, Why?

We agree that the place could do with a facelift, and for first time goers it can seem a very intimidating place to go. But if you see the place for what it is, somewhere to meet like minded people and be able to play, then all the negatives shouldn't come into play. We wear towels when we go, is this any worse than if you go swimming?

Just think, that a club this close to two major welsh cities, should be thriving more. Problem is, too many negative comments get round, and people get scared off.

A couple of really good points made.

We agree if the atmosphere is there decor age groups and other minor negative points become irrelevant.

However we don't go swimming to socialise and possibly play.

Confidence is drained from people when they have their clothed option removed. The opposite applies with fancy dress individual confidence increases. As any psychologist will tell you behind a mask you can achieve anything.

Of all the clubs we have visited the spa based clubs have always been the most clique. And the textile the most friendly.

This is not just coincidence this is science.

Humans need their masks to feel fully confident. (In most cases) except in familiar surroundings.

We thought Chams was good just a little outdated in decor and approach.

Maybe it should just be the wet areas that are textile free. At least then customers would have an option.

I dont see why have a dress code at all really. Why not just let people wear what they feel comfortable in? Surely if people feel comfortable they are far more likely to relax, enjoy themselves and hopefully return again

Do agree that dress code should be updated, as know this is a big point for some people. Wether the management will do this, I doubt. Maybe one night a month could be a clothing night. Treat the bar area as you would one of the socials, fully clothed and used to socialise and mingle. Then, if you choose to play, you have the option to put on your towel and use the rooms.

Like we said, maybe once a month would be good, just so people can then see what the place is like, and if their confidence grows, can attend on another night.

Chams in darleston has same policy for clothing and they average over 100 couples on a Saturday and also busy most times of week so I don't agree that's a contributory factor , we do visit occasionally and we are going this week but feel It's in desperate need of a spruce up and the layout is poor compared to darleston , no real area upstairs for socializing unless u want to choke to death in the smoking area

yes i aggree that for 1st time swingers, chams in newport can feel over intimidating and could do with updating, and the minority of bad reviews also has a bearing. but it's a safer place to meet than meeting at someones house/flat ..and almost guaranteed to find a swing buddie

. the staff at chams in newport are very friendly and they do reasure you that you are in a safe in environment. but at the same time , do you really look at the decor when your having a gangbang or one on one sex?lol..i know i dont

Chameleons is hosted by the Greenhouse gay/bisexual/TV's club which is thriving and often packed on a Sunday & Wednesday.

There is a stark contrast in presentation & ambience in the SAME building between the regular Greenhouse and Chameleons. By day the interior is warmly & beautifully-lit, sparkly lights everywhere & very, very relaxed & chilled.

Then suddenly when it becomes Chameleons there's a stark change : the atmosphere is more tense, the ambient lights have gone & bright, white lights are on.

I asked Wally & Dave why this change? The answer is ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION. They have to put the bright white lights on because of the nunber of people falling down pissed by 3 am.

I'm not posting this to put people off Chams. On the contrary I'm giving you a strong hint on how to get your Saturday's back & to keep Chams open. Go there to fuck, to meet people, not to get pissed. They like action. It's a sex club not a piss up. Or if you must drink heavily, handle it.

well been to chams a few times with an ex and on my own , great place. But come on why charge so much for single guys to go . Yes some couples dont like loads of single guys there and some couples do . All depends what your looking for I guess, but saturday night being made a couples or single women didnt work did it.

Of course its now closed on a saturday because of this.

Sort it out chams your pricing it to high for the normal guy to go.

Just hope it doesnt close on a Friday because its a Great place .

Think one of the earlier posts hit on a good idea, hold a social night there once every couple of months. Have to be fully dressed to attend, no playing on that night, and don't have to be a member, just have to put your name down like with the socials. Will give people who've never been there, or are dubious about going, a chance to look around the place knowing that it's just a social meet and greet night. Might put some peoples anxieties at ease?

ive never had a problem with the singlea guys if ur polite and chat 2 them they chat back.i 4 one when im there make a effort 2 talk 2 new people as i was once new.and i no alot of people that go there do the same.....i always say u get out of swinging and socials what u put in...if u put feck all in you get feck all back

We went last night , very quiet , we sat in the bar and a guy came and say near but didn't say a word , just the odd glance which is normal I suppose , we sat there best part of and hour and not a word but as soon as I got up and went to toilet he started chatting to the mrs then clammed up again when I came back , he then proceeded to follow is around the club and I do mean follow , every corridor or room we went into he was behind us. We had to actually push past him every time we turned around , it got too much for us and we asked him to stop , at which point he said ' I'm not following you I was going I to this room'" he barged past and went into a private room on his own and locked the door , I'd rather they just ask are we interested , could have saved a lot of walking lol

That what it was like we went on a Friday after couple hours it put you off a bit to play there less you in one the lock able rooms but the big couples room good because you play but if the single want to watch they can thought the one way mirror so it feels like no one is watching what cool xx

i really like the chams in Darlaston. if the Newport one was tweaked a bit to be more like that then i would consider going. the one time i went to Newport i was put off by the "musky" odour and the fact it was a bit run down.

these are just my opinion on what i experienced on my visit there

Personally we hate clubs where people are fully dressed. Chatting then going straight off to play is fun, we don't want to stop chatting in order to undress and put all our clothes away.

We don't like couples only clubs. We like, nay we LOVE, single guys in clubs. Lots of them. None of this 6 pre - selected rubbish.

We don't like people who feel the need to change clubs to suit their preference and then don't go to the club to support it.

It's quite simple. If you don't like Chams, don't go. If you do like Chams, show it your support!

We have been several times staff are fab and the layout once u learn it lol is good. Lack of sitters stops us going as regularly as we like. The only problem we have ever had is the option for dress code for men he doesnt enjoy wearing a towel all night and shorts is no better. If they could allow men to be clothed this would help. We definately need to go in the new year.

The place has no standards in ours and yes there'll be those who.disagree but it's our opinion and we'd never go there.

That said, we don't like dogging either. Therefore we don't go but many do like it just has many like this club and it would be a shame if they lost it.

At the end.of the we all like different things and eventhough we don't like Charms, we'd still donate to a rescue fund if there was one because the place is needed by many.

I agree. Chams is a lovely friendly place with great staff. The only problem as far as I'm concerned has been their having only one night a week when I, as a single man, can go.

I'm Newport born and bred, have always heard about Chams, but self confidence is not very high for me, from what Ive read in this thread, I don't think I'd go if I was only allowed to wear shorts. It seems a really friendly place but am very nervous to go as I'm a single man and new to all of this.

it doesnt struggle on a friday does it and it never used to on a sat night until the couples insisted no single men then the couples didnt bother going, so think its a bit of both. I dont do newport chams but a lot of members enjoy it there

Spot on. Many who go.to.Chams have never been to another club, therefore they except the poor quality and even rave it's good.

We've travelled to many clubs around the UK and people always talk of poor Charms is.

I live in Chepstow and I go to the lodge because of the price difrence if it was cheaper for single men I would give it a go but at the current price it's not worth it

Also I think it would be worth wile if they did a once a year or every 6 months do a free for fab members night I went to one at xtacia a few weeks ago and it was electric lots of people there the place was buzzing will get people throw the door and hopefully then they will come back and support it afterwords

speaking as an aged Cpl who have occasionally attended cams for many years.We have been when its been well attended and when its been quiet and always have enjoyed.Cams have their rules and we all have to abide to them.If not you will end up losing the Friday also.Cams is a towel club and a large towel covers quite a lot.If you are not happy with towels or something sexy which most males Enjoy,then you have a choice,Not a vote.Cams in Darlingston have same rules,Our cams is smaller and more friendly.Now there is equal rights,Single men should be treated the same as us couples or single ladies on membership fees.

After reading this thread for some time, I should put my 2p's worth in also.

I think your all missing the point on this thread. Its been a few hard years of recession, and people just don't have the money they had 4yrs ago ! That's why numbers are hit n miss, as people have limited funds and time.

I think that management should have adapted to the current economic climate (if they had business sense), and adjusted their prices ? This way they would have at least kept reasonable numbers attending the club.

Moaning about the amount of single males get you nowhere, as they are the prime income for the club. Its a fact that single males will outnumber the couples and single fems 2:1,just look at this site, it's the same ?

I have been a member of Cams Newport for many many years

and NOT ONCE have I ever had a bad experience there either as a couple or single male. Yes there have been the odd occasions where I questioned why did I bother ? but all in all your not going to get another club in wales if you can't make just the one work ?

So, yes ! support the club, have a good time, but just remember its not your fault its failing, its also the way it has been run, and the fact we just don't have the funds we used to.

will probably get slated for this but we think the rooms could do with a little freshen up and a few air fresheners wouldn't go a miss either the Hot Tub well when we seen the scum on the top of it we decided to give that a miss, and last but not least the carpet could do with a bloody good wash as when we removed the table when the lady fell down stairs you wouldnt even know it was the same carpet but on a plus side the girls who work there are lovely and they make up for it
