"The closest social I've seen to us is about a one and a half hour drive away. Just thought I would throw this idea out there before I did anything about it. I know some people don't like socials and some peeps say there is already to many. Well we like them and in are area we cant be so choosy without long drives and hotel bills. So, would anyone be interested in going to a social in the Cardigan area? Yes I would organise it." would be a great idea accommodation is the nightmare when organizing a location i have a great place with accommodation near ponsharn but problem is getting people to attend a social from the local areas in case they get seen shame really as theres so many like minded people in the area the people who visited the milford social were mostly from east of carmarthen if you get it off the ground i would love to attend good luck

"The challenge with a meet somewhere as small as Cardigan is, as Warren knows and says, that anyone local will be seen by someone they know, who will wonder who those other peeps are, who will stand out from the crowd. (pyjamas are acceptable dress code in cardigan to go get your paper). I feel Cardigan is way too small for local locals to meet. whilst cardigan is a happening and fast changing place (do all come and visit this truly fab place) this area is still very conservative, and not very sexually liberated (wait for the piles of abuse now....). We don't have anything risque at all. Where is our gay pub for example???? At times it is still a little bit 1973 in sexual attitudes. All that said, it is a truly excellent idea to have a west meet, with the best of intentions and motivations. Any meet would have to be very discreetly located and organised and staffed by fab peeps only. One of the caravan site clubs might be best? Happy to discuss Shypeeps by pm for ideas. We do feel that Aberystwyth or H'west or Carms would see us more safely "lost in the crowd", a far far bigger crowd. It is a frustration to travel, and Ceredigion has very very few active couples on FAB. So, a west wales meet is a very very good idea, we wouldn't be coming into Cardigan town for it, but would fully support one in a larger town or right out of town in the stix proper. " I think you are right on that one haverfordwest or Carmarthen would be better but you will always have a chance of running into someone you know tho but we are all very secret about it and it might even turn into regular meets for some ppl

" No it would absolutly not be IN Cardigan. I'm just using Cardigan as a rough place on a map that most people would know so that they understand the rough area I was considering. Yes You have outlined a lot of the problems I have been considering that is why it is not being rushed into and all problems are being fully thought out first. Their are more than enough Fab'ers in ceredigion and Pembroke to fill a hall twice over. Carmarthen is to close to swansea which already has one and to far from Aber or north ceredigion. Its nearly a two hour journey between H-west and Aber so to have it in either place would make the other miss out. Hence the Cardigan AREA is central for attempting to make it a fair distance for all. Also for pure ease of organisation I will not be arrangeing something tens of miles from my own area. It will be a remote destination so no village or town would be aware. I am fully aware of small town feelings to such avents thats why they would not know about it.

"We could be persuaded as we are not too far from Cardigan - worked there for two years. January could be a good time as everything is pretty quiet then??" I won't be doing it before February as people have to much going on between now and Christmas and if your like us you'll be broke and want a month off after Christmas. As a new event i want to give it the best starting chance without to much competition. Will keep the thread going to find the interest.
