Charity Social 28th September

Function Room booked above a public house in suburb of Cardiff. £1.00 entry fee to cover room hire and raffle tickets 1.00 raffle ticket money and excess admission money to be paid to cancer research. If you wish to come please message me, obviously if you dont wish to come no problems. Thought we could all have a drink and a laugh (no playing) but do something good at the same time

have u tried all the hotels newport road and there is the caponali and a travel lodge or premier in nr pontprennau thats just a 10 min taxi ride to place

Why the need for another Cardiff social, wouldn't it be just as effective to put a donation bucket at the already established social for people to contribute if they so wish, rather than doing another one social on the pretense of its for charity or am I being cynical?

Or put another way, why not give people the choice? Every social offers something different and variety is the spice of life! We love socials but can't travel too far at the moment due to other commitments so the more there are locally the happier we are, the fact that all monies goes to charity is just a bonus!

the very ever first cardiff social that existed in a small pub was organised by myself and a friend, no charge but sold tickets which went to charity so if i deem to hold more socials where someone benefits from others having a good time so be it and obviously you wont ever want to attend one of these events. Maybe the "Cardiff Social" has a charity bucket already who knows. I know its a well organised social as all the socials are

Very true Joan puts a lot of work into the existing Cardiff social and I was very grateful that was our first one as we met some lovely people but the music was just too much I sound 80 not 41 tho lol xx

I am merely asking a simple and valid question as to why there needs to be a “charity” social when there is ample opportunity to contribute to any chosen charity at the current Cardiff social or maybe I'm not allowed to ask questions on a free and open forum?

As for a social that contributes to charity I'm all for. Joan does a great job with hers and I enjoy every one I go to, I just think it would be great to have a different kind of social. Especially for those who can't make the one, they can attend another. Cardiff is a massive place, and can't satisfy everyone with just the one social. You have my support kitten.

exactly HG Cardiff is big enough for more than one and the Cardiff Social is run extremely well no one is saying any different, it seems as if some ppl think its a competition it aint, i do charity get togethers all the time just thought am doing a social which i was doing in june but had to cancel and why not give proceeds to cancer research as I for one know first hand of how good it is, having undergone op for it myself l8 months ago when i left the site
